Releaseology - Physical Therapy
Sara Becker with Releaseology has her doctorate in physical therapy and prides herself on the nontraditional approach to healthcare. With extensive experience rehabbing neurological patients, Sara began to see a critical connection: true healing wasn’t just about addressing muscles and joints—it was about working with the nervous system itself. Pain, stress, and dysfunction often have deeper roots in how the brain and body communicate. Sara realized that by targeting pain at its neurological source, she could help people experience deeper, lasting relief. This revelation led her to immerse herself in perfecting hands-on techniques like neurokinetic therapy (NKT), vagus nerve regulation, dry needling, and myofascial release. Sara has crafted a practice centered on holistic, root-cause healing that not only reduces pain and dysfunction but helps my clients feel more at ease in their bodies. Every day, Sara is honored to help people take control of their healing journeys, release pain and stress, and reconnect with the incredible resilience of their bodies and nervous systems.

IPA Physio Long Beach
Jessica Workman earned her B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, in 2009. She then went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos in 2012. During her time in physical therapy school, she discovered that she had been struggling with chronic pain caused by hypermobility. Jessica began her career in an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Thousand Oaks before transitioning to a mixed outpatient orthopedic and neurological practice specializing in vestibular disorders in March 2014. With a focus on treating complex neurological, vestibular, and orthopedic conditions, she utilizes Functional Manual Therapy, Craniosacral techniques from Upledger, and Visceral Manipulation from Barral. She is nearly complete with a Functional Manual Therapy Fellowship through the Institute of Physical Art. It was during her in depth studies into treating a broad array of complex systems such as airway/sleep disorders, connective tissue disorders, concussions, and enhancing athletic performance that Jessica developed a deep passion for treating individuals with chronic pain related to hypermobility, recognizing the unique challenges these patients face. Her approach centers on a holistic evaluation of the person and their environments and lives, collaborating closely with her patients their physicians and loved ones to help them return to the activities and lifestyle that bring them joy.

Integrative Pelvic Health
Diagnoses like Ehlers-Danlos or hypermobility syndrome can cause looseness to the skin and underlying tissues, as well as increased range of motion to the joints. You might have been one of those kids that could show all your friends how you could put your hands flat on the floor when you bent over, or you could bend your fingers backwards, or hyperextended your elbow. These same symptoms, later in life, can cause back pain, hip pain, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, painful sex, bladder pain and gastrointestinal dysfunction. The pelvic floor is made up of connective tissue. When this tissue becomes stretched and/or compromised with age, having babies, abdominal surgeries, the looseness of the connective tissue, causes a counter-reaction. Our body, in attempt to compensate for the lack of stability, because we have so much mobility, will begin to over-activate the muscles of the pelvic floor. The body is trying to provide more support. The pelvic floor supports all our organs from above and absorbs the ground forces from below with each step we take. At Integrative Pelvic Health, we are trained to deal with these complexities. We can provide education on how to care for your joints and give support to the muscles that are weak, while providing mobility through soft tissue work, body work, and stretches. We provide WOMEN and MEN with specialized specific treatment to resolve your pelvic health issues. Whether pain, pre-, post-partum, urine or bowel issues, post-prostatectomy, or if you are looking for a smooth delivery or getting your body back to a before-pregnancy state. We will work with you to meet your goals. We are nationally trained, an elite group of providers that excel in clinical excellence, so that you can LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!! Book your appointment today!! Redhawk Physical Therapy
Redhawk PT is a physical therapy private practice focusing on orthopedic care and rehab, including pelvic floor and EDS/HSD issues. It is owned and operated by Julie Scira, PT, MPT, who has 25 years experience in orthopedic physical therapy, as well as a staff of physical therapists with extensive orthopedic experience. All visits are one-on-one, one-hour with the PT and their patient for every visit. Please see our website for contracted insurances. I have always had an awareness of EDS/HSD issues, but was never able to help them like I wanted until someone brought me the Muldowney protocol and asked if I’d be willing to undergo the journey with them. That was several years ago and we have been so grateful to learn more and finally have tools to assist these clients. Since then, we have seen many people with EDS/HSD and been able to help see them improve their pain and function.

The Healing Collective
Dr. Madelyn Lamar Altman is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at The Healing Collective, in Niwot, Colorado, that can treat conditions from your head to your toes, because she has training in all areas of Physical Therapy with additional specialized training in Pelvic Health. Dr. Madelyn takes a contemplative, holistic approach to help clients identify the underlying causes of dysfunction through the use of established Physical Therapy modalities such as soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and therapeutic exercise, but what makes her practice different is that she also uses Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), with amazing results, to treat things like EDS, hypermobility spectrum disorders, vagus nerve dysfunction, pelvic pain, low back pain, incontinence, brain fog, prolapse, migraines, and so much more. By utilizing PT and FSM, she helps patients with EDS and hypermobility spectrum disorders shift from global joint pain, brain fog, constipation, and POTS to decreased pain, improved clarity, a more regulated nervous system, and a better quality of life.

Denver Dry Needling
As a zebra myself, I’ve lived the bendy life, with my first hypermobile injury at age 9. I love to help other zebras navigate their bodies and the healthcare system from a therapeutic perspective, especially those who feel like they’ve “tried it all” and are still coming up empty-handed. My primary focus uses dry needling as a pain management intervention with follow through from exercises based in barre and pilates, making sure the structural muscles are there to support everything else. I have training in pelvic floor physical therapy, vestibular therapy, concussion, and have worked with every age and body type. With EDS, this is a life-long adventure, but I’m here to listen, educate, and look outside the box for ways to improve your pain and function.

Hello, I am Adriana Potter, PT, DPT, Cert DN, founder and physical therapist at Potter Physical Therapy, LLC. My clinic specializes in Pelvic and Abdominal Health, Hypermobility Disorders, and General Orthopedics. With over 17 years of experience in physical rehabilitation services, I have dedicated my career to providing comprehensive, one-on-one care. Before establishing Potter Physical Therapy, I worked in large outpatient hospital settings for 13 years, where I was part of the women’s health services team. My expertise includes specialization in pelvic floor dysfunction for both women and men, as well as hypermobility disorders, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. I have also had the privilege of working for several years under the mentorship of Dr. Bradley Tinkle, MD, and Patricia Shimanek, PT, MPT, both specialists in EDS and HSD in the Midwest. Their guidance has greatly inspired my pursuit of knowledge in the EDS/HSD field. I hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University and certifications in Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation and Dry Needling. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its Women’s Section. Additionally, I actively participate in EDS ECHO, which keeps up to date with the latest clinical considerations and treatments for pelvic and abdominal health and hypermobility disorders. My skills include advanced training in lumbosacral decompression and comprehensive examination for pelvic and abdominal health disorders and hypermobility. These areas are often complex and have multifactorial considerations and various comorbidities. Over the years, I have developed strong problem-solving skills, enabling me to think outside the box, guide patients in managing their medical conditions, refer them to the appropriate specialists, and provide hands-on treatment and individualized care. Outside work, I enjoy exercising, walking, paddleboarding, cooking, and raising my four amazing kids. I strive to maintain a balanced life and stay inspired. I am a Christian and actively involved at Lutz Family Church. I am always looking for new opportunities to collaborate and expand my knowledge in the physical therapy field. Please feel free to connect with me via email at potterphysicaltherapy@gmail.com, and let’s explore how we can work together.

Cathy received a BA in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Holistic Health in 1994 from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. In 1999, she completed a Master’s degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of GA. In 2020, she decided to advance her professional knowledge of pelvic health and completed her post-professional doctorate degree with an advanced pelvic health focus from Evidence in Motion in 2022. She is certified in both Dry Needling and Pelvic Health. She has extensive training in fascial and visceral manipulation from STECCO Fascial Manipulation & Barral Institute. Upon receiving her master’s from MCG, she began working at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA, where she worked full time until 2017. During her time at Shepherd, she worked with patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and various other neuromuscular conditions. In 2017 Cathy entered the private practice world, focusing her clinical efforts on pelvic health. She has attended many conferences and continuing education courses regarding the treatment of conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome, and age-related changes affecting bowel and bladder functioning. With her broad range of experience across a spectrum of challenging patient needs, she has many “tools in the toolbox” to help clients achieve their best results. Cathy’s primary goal in treating her patients is to look at the whole person-psychologically, personally, nutritionally, and physically. She is interested in how all of the parts of the body interact with each other vs. treated segmented body parts in isolation. When Cathy is not treating her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 3 dogs. Her hobbies include painting furniture, attending Pilates classes, and visiting the beach as often as possible.

RecoverRx Physical Therapy
We help athletes and active adults recover from pain and injury, rebuild functional movement patterns, and redefine their future performance, allowing for a return to the sports and activities they love. A little more about Megan: Megan knew she wanted to be a physical therapist in 5th grade when she began learning about the importance of preventing injury from a physical therapist at her club gymnastics gym. She then went on to compete as a Division I Gymnast at Central Michigan University. During her first year as a DPT student at Northwestern University, she fell in love with the world of pelvic health. From that moment on, she immersed herself in the world of sex, poop, pee, pregnancy, menopause and many other pelvic conditions. She now practices with a belief that all of her patients are athletes, whether their goals involve lifting children or a heavy barbell. In addition to her pelvic specialty, Megan also enjoys treating patients with hypermobility disorders and common sequelae associated with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. When Dr. Megan isn’t treating patients, she’s working out at her CrossFit gym or trying out a new brewery, cuddling her cats, or playing a board game with her husband.

Motion Matters Physical Therapy and Wellness
I own an outpatient PT practice where i specialize in the treatment of complex chronic pain conditions. I have been through therapeutic pain specialist, lifestyle medicine, and pain fellowship programs through Evidence in Motion and Adriaan Louw’s group. I see a lot of hypermobility spectrum disorder and hEDS at the clinic. I only discovered my own hypermobility related pains and aches after i started treating patients with it about 10 years ago. I’ve been a PT for 25 years. I also offer yoga training for the nervous system, integrate lifestyle medicine treatment and counseling, and promote multidisciplinary intervention for the treatment of complex chronic pain. I plan to sign up for the ECHO training beginning in January. I was not sure if i could apply to be listed on this website before i do the training or not given my background with pain science fellowship and pain specialist training. Currently i am the only provider at my clinic along with an office manager (who has hEDS and POTS). My goal is to hire a chronic pain trained pelvic floor specialist to add to the clinic. The hEDS population seems to have found me and i seem to relate well to them. The University of Iowa nearby has dropped its EDS clinic completely and i see there is a real need for patients to get resources. I’d like to continue my training and resource awareness to better serve this population of patients.

Core Physical Therapy
Our Mission: To partner with you on your journey to help you achieve your best life. We are experts in Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Release therapy, and we use them in almost every therapy session. These hands-on therapy techniques utilize soft touch and gentle manual interventions to help treat both chronic and acute pain. Myofascial Release Therapy has been the reason many of our patients choose Core Physical Therapy. We utilize a series of hands-on techniques that help detect restrictions that won’t be seen on X-rays, CAT scans, or MRIs. Myofascial Release Therapy aims to improve the function of fascia, a system that surrounds bones, muscles, nerves, organs, and blood vessels, that can become damaged overtime. When damaged, this can manifest itself in a whole host of symptoms. We are proud to be the premier provider of Craniosacral Therapy in central Iowa because this specific therapy has helped patients find relief when they haven’t elsewhere. This specific therapy technique taps into the craniosacral system, a system in your body that consists of membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Through skillful palpation throughout the body, our physical therapists are able to identify and treat restrictions in the head, spine, and tailbone that will assist in your recovery.

We see a large number of patients with chronic pain and hyper/hypomobility-whether from chronic injuries or conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos, etc. As many of our patients would say…we treat a little differently than what you would consider traditional “exercise only” physical therapy. We have a very large gentle manual approach to our practice, in conjunction with any strengthening needed, and we asses the body as a whole-which is crucial when dealing with hypermobility, hypomobility, and chronic pain.

As a hypermobile person herself, Dr. Herrst has a special passion for ensuring that hypermobile people and those with EDS receive the gentle manual medicine care that will help them thrive. Her practice focuses on primary chiropractic care, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, auriculotherapy and Mayan Abdominal Massage, all of which can be of great benefit to the person looking to stabilize their body and move through the world confidently. Believing that the body prefers to be invited and not told to move, Dr. Herrst has spent the last seventeen years perfecting gentle manipulation techniques that are well tolerated by most hypermobile individuals and combining that with strengthening exercise. She has special training in women’s health and is particularly interested in pelvic organ positioning for hypermobile people and the effects of pelvic hypermobility on fertility, pregnancy, birth and post-partum recovery.

I am a physical therapist specializing in pelvic health and joint hypermobility, and have hypermobility and dysautonomias myself. I have worked with numerous patients and clients with EDS/HSD/POTS/MCAS and chronic pain, and am systematic with how I address pain and the body. I am a firm believer that even with connective tissue issues and dysautonomias, a person can build up effective strength, decrease their symptoms, and participate in activities they are interested in. My passion with working with people with joint hypermobility and dysautonomias grew in 2022, when I created the Strong and Bendy exercise program and Oxbow Health & Wellness. This began as a few videos of exercises for clients who did not like reading my paper handouts, and wanted to follow along in real time with my cues, then grew to over 60 videos! This program address core strength, as well as the rest of the body, to improve joint stability and strength. These exercises are spinal neutral, have minimal position changes for those with dysautonomia, and are very gradual to avoid pain flares. They include exercises I do myself to keep pain at bay, and have been used successfully by a number of people I have worked with. For more one-on-one consultations, I am able to do in-home or online evaluations via my physical therapy practice, Great Lakes Pelvic Rehab. I am an out-of-network provider, so do not take insurance, but keep my costs well below the market value so that services are accessible to those who need them. Feel free to send me an email with any questions you may have, or how we can best work together to address your symptoms!

Many women experience pelvic floor issues, especially during life transitions like postpartum or menopause. But often, symptoms like painful sex, leaky bladder, or hip and back pain get dismissed as “normal, a side effect of aging, or just how it is after childbirth.” At Health Elevated, we know that when it comes to these sensitive issues in such a personal area, that pain or dysfunction may seem easier to ignore than to address! But we also know that these symptoms are more than just inconvenient — They’re straining relationships, eroding confidence, and even limiting women in their careers. This is why we provide concierge pelvic health services to women who are ready to get their best life back! With careful assessments and custom treatment options, we help them address the root problem, and solve it for good so they can regain control and confidence in their body again and rediscover a life without limits.

Jena Blackwood, PT, DPT, PLLC - Minneapolis
As a long-time mindfulness practitioner, meditation devotee, and lifelong learner, I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy to investigate mindfulness-based movement, resilience, and pain modulation through novel therapeutic approaches integrated with measurable physical therapy outcomes. My research focuses on chronic pain conditions, including hypermobility spectrum disorders, hEDS, and fibromyalgia. Clinically, my work spans connective tissue disorders (including hEDS and related hypermobility syndromes), craniocervical instability and cervicalgia, neurological and complex pain conditions, pelvic health, and multifactorial orthopedic presentations. I believe deeply in treating the whole person by integrating physical, neurological, and psychosocial dimensions to optimize outcomes. My therapeutic approach incorporates Pilates-based rehabilitation, breathwork and autonomic regulation, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and postural restoration, select osteopathic techniques (including craniosacral, visceral, and counterstrain methods), cognitive multisensory rehabilitation, lymphatic drainage, and other specialized body awareness training. I currently provide private clinical care in New York and Minneapolis.

Holistic Physical Therapy, Pilates, Yoga, and Coaching- Achieve Your Health Goals with Dr. Jennifer M. Nelson DPT, DScPT. My approach is that of a doctoral-level physical therapist who provides holistic, quality physical therapy and coaching targeted towards people with persistent pain and autonomic dysfunction and those who want a provider who can treat the whole body. I assist people by providing physical therapy, coaching, training and more. Let me help you connect with your health and wellness goals by meeting your personal needs online or in-person. What truly sets my approach apart is I will listen to you, take different concepts and diagnosis’s you may have gotten from numerous different providers and weed through it. Usually the providers are all saying the same thing but only looking at a small part of it so it sounds different. I help take the fear out of your condition and help you problem solve in a judgment free zone. There is no problem too small or big that we can’t work on. I truly believe you can do anything you want if you have the correct support (pun intended), understand the risks and have the time and drive to commit to it. I can help you find your unique path. Examples of treatments and approaches we can explore together: Breathing- Breathing patterns are at the heart of many problems. I commonly see people become stuck in one way of breathing leading to mechanical, postural and chemical problems throughout the body. There is no one “right” way to breathe all the time, and I will help you learn how to use different breathing methods becoming more efficient at using the oxygen you breathe in. Manual Therapy – Mobilization and manipulation of the joints and various soft tissue/massage techniques to help you use your body differently and get out of painful/dysfunctional patterns of movement. Manual therapy can also be used to help calm the nervous system and manage swelling/inflammation. Dry Needling – The ultimate deep tissue work. It is great for knots in muscles, tight fascia and scars. Dry needling is different from acupuncture but can be performed by an acupuncturist. Pain Science Education – The body talks to the brain and the brain talks to the body. Many treatments only focus on the way the body talks to the brain. Pain Science Education helps to teach the brain new ways to talk to the body and is wonderful for persistent problems. This may include self-talk, education, flash cards/memory games and mirrors depending on what is needed. Exercises – Movement in all forms. We will start from the foundation. Whether it is to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength or balance, we will assess your current movement patterns and how they are playing into the problem you are having. I will then help you learn new movement patterns to accomplish your goals. This often means small tweaks to exercises you are already doing to target muscles you have difficulty using or to stop using muscles you already use. We will discuss how many exercises you can do as homework as well so the program is truly individualized. Yoga – Yoga is a wonderful way for people to connect with themselves. Over the years some have turned the movement part of yoga into a workout rather than a time for moving meditation. I can help you understand both aspects to allow you to decide how your body can best use the asanas/poses and breathing techniques. Whether you are new or well-practiced, stiff or hypermobile, I will help you learn how to move into the asanas/poses safely and understand any challenging movement patterns to allow you to explore the posture in a new way. Energy Conservation – We are so accustomed to structuring our day around how much time we have instead of how much energy we have. I will help you learn how to structure your day around the energy you have. We will also look at the way you perform different activities and attempt to reduce the energy needed for those tasks or achieve a more optimal time structure per task. Basic Nutrition – We will assess whether you are meeting basic nutritional requirements and explore whether this may be contributing to your problem(s). Meditation Mindfulness – “I can’t meditate because I can’t get my head to stop thinking!” is something I hear frequently. That is OK! There are many forms of meditation. The types of meditation that require you to “clear your head” were designed for monks whose main objective was to connect with a higher power or enlightenment. This is a wonderful connection, but there are other benefits that you can achieve with different types of meditation that are designed for people who live in society and have attachments such as jobs, families and pets. Cognitive Behavioral – This is a powerful way to help you change habits and patterns. I use it most often to aid people in sleeping better, ending jaw clenching/grinding and stopping strong urges to run to the bathroom. We will look at how your body reacts to different places/situations/people and teach you a new pattern to replace the old habit. Training Plans – Do you have a fitness goal but don’t know where to start? Have you repeatedly been injured while training for a specific goal? Do you have a difficult time sticking with a plan? I can help you start or fine tune your training plans to keep you moving whether it be a 5k walk, marathon, triathlon, pull-ups or boxing match. We will explore your natural strengths as we determine what is needed to complete the task.

Inspira Physical Therapy
At Inspira, we understand the challenges that individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) face. These conditions are characterized by joint hypermobility, connective tissue issues, and a wide range of symptoms that can affect various systems in the body. Our dedicated team of physical therapists is committed to providing specialized care and support to help patients manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. Comprehensive Evaluation & Tailored Treatment Plans When you choose Inspira for EDS/HSD physical therapy, our first step is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation. We take the time to understand each patient’s specific symptoms, joint hypermobility, and any related complications they may be experiencing. This assessment allows us to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses individual needs and goals. Our physical therapists are experienced in working with patients with EDS and HSD, and we understand that each patient’s condition is unique. Physical Therapy at Inspira Strengthening exercises, joint stabilization techniques, and manual therapy methods such as massage and proprioceptive functional manual therapy. The integration of Winback Tecar Therapy further enhances our treatment options, providing advanced technology to support tissue healing and pain relief. Our specialized Muldowney method focuses on personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. We also incorporate Pilates Equipment Integration and Kinesiotaping to optimize movement patterns and support joint stability. In addition to the physical aspects of our treatments, we prioritize lifestyle modifications and education, helping patients identify pain triggers and adopt safe movement practices in their daily lives. Furthermore, promoting good sleep hygiene is a crucial aspect of our approach, recognizing the importance of restful sleep in facilitating the body’s natural healing processes. Through this comprehensive and holistic approach, we aim to empower our patients to achieve lasting pain relief, improved function, and an enhanced quality of life. Strengthening and Stabilizing Joints One of the primary goals of physical therapy for EDS/HSD is to strengthen and stabilize the affected joints. Hypermobility and joint instability can lead to pain, subluxations, and dislocations. Our therapists employ targeted exercises and techniques to build strength in the muscles surrounding the joints, providing greater support and reducing the risk of injuries. Pain Management Strategies Chronic pain is a common challenge for individuals with EDS and HSD. Our physical therapists are well-versed in various pain management techniques. By addressing pain, we aim to improve overall comfort and functionality, enabling patients to engage in daily activities with greater ease.

I treat a wide-range of orthopedic conditions, from low back pain to shoulder replacements to migraines. Connection Physical Therapy
Dr. Rachel has been in practice as a Doctor of Physical Therapy for ten years. Her career has taken her across the country, working in many Physical Therapy settings. She discovered her true calling in the Physical Therapy field when she began to study and treat Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunctions (TMJ), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (Including EDS) and Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions. Treatment of these conditions are highly specialized and have required significant additional training. Dr. Rachel has also attended many specialized courses for the treatment and management of TMJ, hypermobility and pelvic floor dysfunction. Although it may appear that these conditions are not related, the opposite is in fact true! This does not imply that having one condition automatically means having the others, but there is a frequent overlap among these conditions. Dr. Rachel’s practice is rooted in creativity and discovery. As her patients will attest, her treatment methods frequently involve novel and inventive solutions as well as traditional methods to alleviate pain, enhance mobility and resolve various issues. Dr. Rachel is passionate about identifying the underlying cause of an individual’s complaints. She views the body as an integrated whole, acknowledging the interconnectedness within the body. This often means that one’s complaints manifest in more than one isolated location. She works hard to discover, treat and empower her patients to manage their body as a whole. She is committed to helping her patients discover the best ways to reach their goals.

Sarah is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with five years of experience treating complex orthopedic, neurological, and systemic conditions, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), POTS, and other forms of dysautonomia. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University. Sarah is trained in dry needling and has completed extensive continuing education through the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI), where she is currently preparing to pursue professional certification through the institute. Her approach is rooted in a systemic understanding of how the body functions—physically and neurologically. Sarah incorporates principles of PRI to address positional imbalances that impact breathing, movement, and nervous system regulation. She has a growing clinical interest in the role of visual input, dental occlusion, and footwear in postural control and autonomic balance, especially in hypermobile or dysautonomic populations. Having personally navigated her own journey with dysautonomia and hypermobility, Sarah brings compassion and perspective to her clinical care. She believes in working with her patients to help them feel more stable, supported, and empowered from the inside out. Outside the clinic, Sarah is an adjunct professor at the Hardin-Simmons DPT Program and enjoys spending time with friends, learning to play guitar, fly fishing, traveling, and staying active—especially with anything outdoors. She has a background in triathlon and completed a Half Ironman, and she continues to explore new hobbies that blend creativity, movement, and curiosity.

Mind Body Physiotherapy
Mind Body Physiotherapy is a physical therapy clinic based in Austin, TX, with a strong and intentional focus on helping people who are struggling with chronic pain conditions, especially those who haven’t found lasting relief through traditional approaches. The clinic takes a whole-person, biopsychosocial approach , meaning they consider the mind, body, and environment when treating pain, rather than just focusing on isolated body parts. Our Philosophy: You are not broken. Pain does not always equal damage, and healing is possible, even in persistent or complex cases. Individualized care matters. Treatment is always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. You are heard. Your story, experience, and goals shape your care. Education is power. Patients are taught to understand their pain and learn how to move and live with confidence again. Healing is a partnership. The therapist and patient work together toward long-term outcomes, not just short-term relief. Mind Body Physiotherapy commonly helps with: Neck and jaw pain (TMJ) Chronic headaches and migraines Pelvic pain and dysfunction (including conditions like endometriosis, IC, postpartum issues) Vestibular disturbances (e.g., dizziness, balance issues, visual sensitivity) Back pain that hasn’t responded well to traditional treatment Nervous system dysregulation (including patients with POTS, trauma history, or central sensitization) Treatment Approach: Manual therapy (gentle, nervous-system-friendly hands-on work) Neuromuscular re-education and stabilization exercises Breathwork and somatic tools for regulating the nervous system Patient education to reduce fear and build body trust Functional movement retraining Vestibular therapy and visual-motor integration for those with dizziness or head/neck trauma

Utilizing her intuitive manual skills and orthopedic background, alongside her pelvic floor training, Jill is highly skilled at unwinding layers of dysfunction to get to the root of the issue. Treating individuals with hypermobility or POTS/dysautonomia is a personal passion for Jill, who believes everyone has the ability to move well and safely in their own bodies. But also recognizes that some bodies require more specialized support in figuring out how to adjust activity to their needs and fluctuating energy levels. Jill strives for a collaborative approach with each patient with the ultimate goal of independent self-management and a focus on functional exercise and movement patterns.

Roots Integrative Physical Therapy
This is a private, integrative clinic focused on providing specialized and individualized care for complex conditions. I treat in person in Boerne, TX (just outside San Antonio) and provide virtual wellness, coaching and doula services around the world. I have a limited amount of openings in Austin for in-person treatment as well. My primary specialty is treatment for those with Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, POTS, Dysautonomia, and/or MCAS. I myself have hEDS and POTS, and have spent many years studying the physiology, symptoms, and various treatment approaches to managing this condition. I have now regained 95% of my function and am passionate about empowering patients to do the same. After years of working with my fellow zebras, I have developed a unique approach that is approachable and mutlifaceted, addressing the mind, body and nervous system from various angles at once so that we can truly get to the ‘root’ of each person’s issues, and from there build a strong foundation and grow. I use a blend of vagus and nervous system retraining, vestibular/balanace rehab, visceral (organ) mobilization, craniosacral therapy, myofascial therapy, pelvic floor therapy, scar tissue release, and diet/lifestyle modification education. I often provide patients with gradual and progresive video home exercises they can safely do at home, focusing first on the nervous system and alignment before any strengthening to prevent the flare ups common with EDS and PT. If virtual, I can provide much of this education and exercise coaching online, and can teach you and/or loved ones how to do self releases of your muscles and organs at home. I am also passionate about helping problem solve with my virtual patients, working with them to find a team of well-trained local doctors, medical massage therapists, or other practitioners that can provide many of the specialized techniques I can, while I help guide the general direction of care. All sessions are one-on-one, and I am cash-based/ out of network with all insurances, however I can provide superbills for reimbursement to those in Texas. Sessions vary in length from 15 -120 minute depending on what the patient needs, and I also offer all-day intensive therapy options for my out of town patients who want to fly in for some hands-on work, as long as it is scheduled 1-2 months in advance. ‘Bend but not break’ is my personal motto – The strongest trees in the world can bend like crazy in a storm without snapping, it’s a superpower, but only if they have a deep and strong root system. We are bendy, we get thrown off easily by the external environment, yes – but that also means that with the right tool box and foundation, we can adapt and get back to thriving quicker than most. It often means we are highly empathetic, amazing friends and leaders, and pioneers in the health and wellness field because of how much we notice that which others block out. Its a double-edged sword and a huge burden, but I want to help others carry it so we can find the blessings in it as well.

Dr. Jennifer Miner, DPT, CMTPT was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Coastal Carolina University in 2005 and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2009. Dr. Miner has 14 years of successful practice throughout Loudoun and Fauquier County work in orthopedic and private practices. After 4 years of working at a clinic that allowed significantly more time for patient treatment and with the encouragement of a dear friend and peer, Jennifer opened Back to You Physical Therapy in 2022. This practice allows her to continue to provide her patients with the quality care and services they deserve. Every patient receives a one-on-one appointment with an individualized treatment plan. Dr. Miner looks at the body as a whole in order to get to the root cause of the dysfunction. One cannot properly treat the shoulder without treating the spine, or the knee without treating the hip and foot. Dr. Miner has extensive training and experience in treating the spine, from cervical to sacral disorders. She enjoys making treatment programs a unique and enjoyable experience for each of her patients. Jennifer believes in hands on treatment, and educating her patients on independent management/treatment of their current dysfunctions, as well as, prevention of future injuries. Dr. Miner specializes in Muscle Energy Techniques, Cupping, Graston, Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation (ETPS), Vagus Nerve Stimulation. She has taken courses in Ocular Neuro assessment/training for the treatment of postural dysfunctions and post-concussion syndrome. Dr. Miner is an Advanced Dry Needling specialist, certified through Myopain Seminars. This includes dry needling with cadaver dissection to fine tune her skills and take a closer look at the relationship between muscles and fascia. Jennifer loves the outstanding benefits dry needling provides her patients. She is currently taking continuing education classes for pelvic health for both men and women. Dr. Miner has been involved with cheerleading at all levels, both as a participant and as a coach, for more than 20 years. Her involvement has contributed to understanding the psyche of athletes, their injuries and their desires to heal and get back to their program as quickly as possible. She is currently providing training and support to her son’s travel baseball team to improve their performance and prevent injuries. Over the past 15 years Jenn has found a passion for treating patients suffering from chronic pain syndromes to include EDS, dystonia, scoliosis and fibromyalgia.

Born Bendy
I am a non-clinical movement professional who specializes in supporting individuals with hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and co-occurring conditions such as POTS. As both a hypermobile person myself and a parent to a hypermobile teen, I bring deep personal understanding to the work I do. I recognize the unique frustrations, challenges, and emotional landscape that both adults and teens experience when trying to feel stable and confident in their bodies. This lived experience fuels a compassionate, patient, and highly individualized approach. Professionally, I have extensive experience training hypermobile clients under the guidance and collaboration of physical therapists. My role focuses on bridging the gap between physical therapy and real life—helping clients carry over therapeutic recommendations, build stability, improve proprioception, and develop functional movement patterns long after insurance-based care has ended. I frequently support clients managing joint instability, chronic pain, fatigue, pelvic floor considerations, and autonomic challenges, always staying within my scope of practice while empowering them to continue progressing. I work with teens, adults, and families who want to better understand their bodies and move through the world with greater ease and confidence. My training is rooted in empathy, education, and an unwavering belief that bendy bodies are capable and deserving of support that honors their unique needs. I currently train out of The Juniper House in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake, conveniently located near Target, where I provide a welcoming and accessible environment for clients seeking ongoing guidance beyond the clinic.

Origins Physical Therapy, LLC
Origins Physical Therapy is a solo practice giving 1 on 1 care for 60 minutes with an integrative full body approach for treatment of all causes of chronic pain but particular interest with pain and dysfunction associated with Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome ( hEDS) and or hypermobile spectrum disorders (HSD). Origins PT utilizes a multi system approach to treat the body with Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) being the main intervention used. Fascial Counterstrain is a gentle manual technique that can treat fascia in every system in the body. Fascia is on muscles, tendons and ligaments but it is also on bone, organs, veins, arteries and peripheral and nerves in the central nervous system. With pain and dysfunction the body can trap inflammation and create tenderpoints throughout the body. Origins PT will assess the body and identify the areas of pain through a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and identify the areas of dysfunction. FCS is performed by gently gliding the tissues in a pain-free direction to drain the trapped inflammation which in turn helps decrease pain, improve ROM, calm the nervous system, improve blood flow and lymphatic restrictions and thus improve function, strength and overall resiliency in the body. Gentle strength training is also addressed in line with the patient’s goals.

At Advantage Physical Therapy, they believe the initial evaluation is crucial to achieving a successful outcome. During a patient’s initial evaluation, the patient and therapist will have an exclusive one-on-one interaction and together design a customized treatment program to meet patient needs. Once the treatment program begins, patients will continue with their physical therapist and will not be assigned to aides or trainers. Furthermore, unless the patient requests otherwise, the physical therapist that performed the initial evaluation will treat him or her during every visit, creating a continuity of care that is the basis of a strong patient-therapist relationship which will enhance both the treatment and overall experience.

Alex Minten is a physical therapist with over 13 years of clinical experience. He specializes in treating diagnoses of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and surrounding muscles, neck pain, headaches, postural dysfunction, vertigo/dizziness, and conditions associated with hypermobility syndromes such as upper cervical or craniocervical instability (CCI). Alex uses an evidence-based approach to address not just the symptoms but the root causes of his patients’ problems and ensure a successful long-term outcome. He also has special interest in the contribution of sleep and the airway to TMD development. Over the years, Alex has worked with many patients with hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and realizes the importance of short-term symptom management and long-term stabilization and function. Given that almost 70% of those with generalized hypermobility or EDS have temporomandibular disorder related pain and/or neck pain and headaches, Alex believes that a thorough understanding of a patient’s contributing impairments co-morbidities is key to ensuring long-term improvement. Alex has completed extensive continuing education on the evaluation and treatment of disorders of the TMJ, head, and neck including education specific to hypermobility/instability through multiple renowned organizations including: American Academy of Orofacial Pain University of Minnesota School of Dentistry Craniofacial Therapy Academy (CRAFTA) Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy Myopain Seminars

Balance Within - Integrative Physical Therapy - Delafield
We are a small private practice Physical Therapy clinic integrating the best of evidence-based practice with holistic approaches. Many of our EDS patients find their way to us due to our Advanced specialization in John Barnes’ Myofascial Release work as many of these patients respond wonderfully to this gentle, long-lasting relief provided by this approach. However due to our first-hand experience with EDS with several of our family members and many patients over the years, we also know how important a gentle stabilization program is for these individuals. We are proud of our many successful ‘graduates’ that have moved from a life where they hurt all over, were limited in function, felt like their whole body was ‘falling apart’ and very worried about their future, moving into being able to sleep and function again, to regain strength and to be hopeful for the future once more. Every person’s journey is a bit different. Some need pelvic floor and jaw pain/headache specialization support. Others need ongoing care. Some graduate fully and are able to keep up with their stability on their own once we have done the hands-on work to get them feeling better. We are grateful to go along with you on the journey, to be a friend, a sounding board, a resource and help however we can along your way to help you meet your goals. With 15 and 20 years of experience as Doctors of Physical Therapy, Doctors Jereme & Sarah Trunk work together as a team to truly get to the root cause of your challenges. We have successfully treated thousands of bodies head to toe and love working with people who think that they have tried everything, as we can almost always ‘think outside the box’ and find other things to address & other avenues to pursue in a new way. We offer free consultations as we are firm believers that no one can ever feel confident that they are making the right decision until they have all the information needed. We hope to be a resource for you. Please do take us up on our offer for you to ‘pick our brains’ as we very likely can help: 262.264.8701 We also encourage you to check out our website and our many Google Reviews over the years: www.BalanceWithinPT.com

TRIA Physical Therapy & HealthPartners Rehabilitation, Hudson
Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist. I take a holistic, whole-person approach to pain and dysfunction—considering your health, history, and goals as part of a personalized care plan. I enjoy working collaboratively with patients to develop treatment strategies that align with their values and lifestyle. I also enjoy mentoring student physical therapists and often host them in the clinic during their clinical rotations. Complex Care I have a special interest in treating complex and chronic health issues including: The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) trifecta. I continue to advance my education in these areas by attending EDS Society ECHO programs. Chronic pain, fibromyalgia, amplified musculoskeletal pain disorder, etc. I use a broad range of treatments including manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, exercise, pain neuroscience education, lifestyle medicine interventions, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and psychologically-informed care. Obesity medicine. Underweight, difficulty gaining weight. Orthopedic Care I treat a range of pain conditions, including headaches, jaw and neck pain, and spine, hip, and pelvic issues. My approach often combines hands-on manual therapy with targeted exercise programs to improve mobility and reduce discomfort. I frequently use dry needling and spinal manipulation as part of individualized treatment plans. I’m also interested in flexible athletes like gymnasts and dancers, and athletic hip and spine problems. Pelvic Health In pelvic health, I work with patients of any gender— teenagers and adults. I treat a wide range of concerns, including sexual health issues such as pain during or after sex (dyspareunia) and difficulty with arousal or orgasm; pelvic and abdominal pain including painful periods (dysmenorrhea), pain with tampon use, genital pain, and constipation; and pregnancy and postpartum-related care involving back, neck, and pelvic pain, painful sex, and discomfort related to breastfeeding. I also support patients recovering from prostatectomy. Collaborative Programs I collaborate with the Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery and HealthPartners Obesity Medicine programs to support patients with weight management and metabolic health. I also support our vestibular, concussion, and wound care teams.
