Dr. Catherine (Cat) Savoia, a Boston native, began her love for the human body with dance. She began her dance training at a local studio at the age of 2. Her passion for movement and love of art drove her to begin teaching. In 2007, she completed a three summer Dance Teachers Training program at the age of 17. Her professional dance training continued in New York at Hofstra University, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science in Dance Education. She went on to become certified to teach K-12 in New York Public schools. She studied all styles of dance with most emphasis on Ballet and Modern. After graduation Cat went on to teach at multiple studios and give master classes in Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary dance. However, after multiple dance injuries over the years, Cat realized the lack of dance specific rehabilitation options and lack of specialists for injured dancers. Her avidity for movement and efficiency propelled her toward filling this need for Dance Medicine. Cat graduated from Northern Arizona University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2016. There, she fell in love with all forms of rehabilitation. In her career, Cat has worked with a wide variety of injuries, extending from severe neurological injuries to athletes. As she has honed in on her skills, she specializes in dance injuries, performing arts rehabilitation, concussion, TMJ disorders, dysautonomia, EDS/ HSD, cervicogenic dizziness and headaches, as well as vertigo, vestibular dysfunction and balance disorders. Shortly after beginning her career in 2016, Dr. Cat began having her own health issues and began a long journey without answers. She has since resolved many of these issues, but has lasting limitations due to Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and dysautonomia/ POTS. This has driven her career to treat people with and educate people about EDS/HSD, POTS, and other chronic illnesses. Since experiencing her own 8 year journey with chronic illness, Dr. Cat has invaluable experience and understanding on treating these diagnoses and caring for people who have suffered “healthcare trauma” and invalidation. Cat is certified in Integrative Dry Needling, Vestibular Rehabilitation & Concussion, and Nutrition for Chronic Pain. Her skill set also includes, but is not limited to neural manipulation by Barral Institute, cupping, and IASTM. She enjoys using her skills and tools to develop an individualized program for each patient to reach their maximum potential in daily activities, to prevent injuries, and to progress safely to return to high level activities. In her free time Cat enjoys yoga, hiking with her husband, going to the dog park with her two fur babies (Zoey and Lola), reading, and going to brunch.

My work focuses on helping people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (specifically hEDS) manage chronic pain, dysautonomia, and other complex symptoms—creating lasting relief and sustainable improvements in daily life. With advanced training in acupuncture, myofascial therapy and trigger point work, I combine these hands-on techniques with my background as a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to provide a comprehensive, individualized approach that supports the unique needs of hypermobile bodies. As someone living with hEDS myself, I understand how exhausting it can be to search for answers and find care that actually works. Powerful Qi Acupuncture and Wellness
I am a Doctor with a deeply personal and professional commitment to the Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) community. My journey with EDS is not only clinical, it is lived. Despite years of symptoms, I was not formally diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome until the age of 40. Like many patients, I spent decades navigating unexplained pain, autonomic dysfunction, fatigue, connective tissue instability, and a growing list of comorbid conditions without a unifying diagnosis. That experience fundamentally shaped how I practice medicine. I understand firsthand the frustration of not being believed, the exhaustion of fragmented care, and the emotional toll of advocating for your own body while it continues to fail you. Living with EDS has required me to manage multiple overlapping comorbidities, including dysautonomia, mast cell activation symptoms, chronic inflammation, and complex multisystem involvement. This has given me an intimate understanding of the nonlinear nature of healing, the setbacks that can occur even with the “right” treatment, and the importance of pacing, nervous system regulation, and individualized care. My medical training spans conventional Western medicine as well as Chinese Medicine and Functional Medicine. This integrative background allows me to approach EDS through a root-cause, systems-based lens rather than a symptom-suppression model. I focus on identifying underlying drivers such as immune dysregulation, connective tissue vulnerability, mitochondrial dysfunction, gut-immune interactions, hormonal imbalances, and chronic stress physiology. Equally important, I prioritize the role of the nervous system, trauma, and lived experience in shaping chronic illness. Because I am both practitioner and patient, I strive to create a clinical space where individuals with EDS feel seen, believed, and respected. I understand the need for collaborative care, realistic goals, and compassionate flexibility. I do not view EDS patients as “complex” or “difficult,” but rather as individuals whose bodies require a more nuanced and thoughtful approach. My mission is to offer patients evidence-informed care, curiosity instead of dismissal, and hope grounded in honesty. I am passionate about education, research, advocacy, and empowering patients with EDS to better understand their bodies and participate actively in their healing journey.

Center for Multisystem Disease: Jill Schofield, MD
The Center for Multisystem Disease in Denver specializes in disorders that affect multiple body systems. These diseases often cause such complex symptoms that patients spend years going from one doctor to the next, without ever obtaining an accurate diagnosis because their problem doesn't fit neatly into a traditional medical specialty. Jill Schofield, MD founded the Center for Multisystem Disease to provide comprehensive care to patients with conditions such as dysautonomia, mast cell activation syndrome, antiphospholipid syndrome, Sjögren's syndrome, and celiac disease. Some of the patients suffering from these disorders also have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome which causes additional struggles. She specializes in immune-mediated disorders that are confounding due to bodywide symptoms, devoting extra time to each patient so she can identify the issues causing their symptoms. She was the recipient of the 2019 Dysautonomia Support Network's Game Changer Award for her work in the use of IVIG to treat patients with autoimmune forms of dysautonomia. At the Center for Multisystem Disease, you'll receive compassionate care that includes not just medication, but support for lifestyle changes that are important for many patients suffering from these disorders. This includes dietary counseling, help with stress reduction, and learning the best ways to exercise to maintain well-being without aggravating your condition...

Hoelle Holistic Health and Spa
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is poorly understood, that’s why you need a practitioner who is seasoned in the complexities and pain of living with EDS and other disabling conditions. As someone living with EDS, I’ve learned how important self-care is and how difficult it is to alleviate the chronic pain that comes with living rare. That’s why I created Hoelle Holistic Health and Spa. My holistic wellness spa is focused on complimenting the medical care received for those living with chronic conditions by assisting managing chronic pain and dysautonomia, relaxing the nervous system, muscles and fascia, improving skin health, and bringing your mind, body and soul to a place of Zen. In addition to the massage and skincare services I provide, I am a Master Herbalist that has crafted an herbal apothecary, hypermobility finger splints, and a list of physicians that are familiar with EDS from North, Central, to South Florida that I can personally recommend. All of this is curated specifically for those living rare, with disabilities, or chronic illnesses who feel stuck in the system and simply want relief.

Alane Wincek
Practitioner Profile – Alane Wincek, ND, CNC I am a certified holistic nutritionist, naturopath, with over 30 years of experience supporting complex, chronic health conditions. I specialize in Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), hypermobility-related disorders, chronic pain, fatigue, autonomic dysfunction, mast cell activation, hormonal imbalance, metabolic dysfunction, and inflammatory conditions. What makes my work deeply personal is that I also live with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and a chronic condition. I understand firsthand the confusion, dismissal, and frustration that so many people with EDS experience—being told symptoms are “in your head,” struggling with pain that doesn’t follow a straight line, and feeling unsure how to move, eat, supplement, live, or even rest safely in your own body. While there is currently no known cure for EDS , I firmly believe—and have seen repeatedly—that with the right guidance, education, and individualized support , people with EDS can stay stronger, more mobile, clearer-headed, and significantly more comfortable in daily life. My Approach I work from a root-cause, whole-body perspective , recognizing that EDS does not exist in isolation. Joint instability, pain, and injury are often compounded by nervous system dysregulation, nutrient deficiencies, infections, viral overloads, mitochondrial dysfunction, hormonal shifts, gut and immune imbalance, and chronic inflammation. My approach focuses on: Personalized, holistic nutrition counseling to support connective tissue, vascular integrity, and metabolic health Functional lab testing to identify deficiencies, inflammation, infections, viral overloads, autonomic stress, mast cell activity, and metabolic dysfunction Strategic supplementation to support collagen integrity, muscle strength, energy production, inflammation, and recovery Nervous system support to reduce pain amplification, fatigue, and dysautonomia symptoms Lifestyle and movement guidance tailored specifically for hypermobile bodies—so patients know what to do and what to avoid Education and empowerment, so patients feel confident navigating daily life, flare-ups, and long-term planning I collaborate with medical providers when appropriate and help patients understand how to safely integrate both conventional and holistic strategies—without overwhelm or guesswork. Why Patients With EDS Choose to Work With Me People seek me out because they want: A practitioner who truly understands EDS from the inside out Clear guidance instead of vague reassurance Help connecting the dots between pain, fatigue, hormones, infection, viral load, digestion, inflammation, and mobility Support that is realistic, compassionate, and sustainable for long-term living Someone who listens, believes them, respects them, and helps them regain trust in their body Living with EDS requires ongoing support, adaptability, and informed decision-making. My role is to help patients feel less lost, less alone, and more empowered—so they can live fully, stay active in the ways that are right for them, and protect their health over the long term.

Fusion Chiropractic
Dr. Cynthia Seebacher, D.C. focuses primarily on patients with chronic pain and chronic illness. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1999 and a Doctor of Chiropractic since 2015. Approximately 45% of her patients have hEDS, 2 daughters with hEDS and HSD herself. She provides a gentle chiropractic adjustment, moving major joints through their appropriate ranges of motion (hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, wrists) to neurologically re-set the nervous system for appropriate proprioception (body’s awareness through time and space). She utilizes microcurrent for vagus nerve stimulation, calming the nervous system, relaxing/releasing tension from muscles and strengthen ligaments and tendons through microcurrent frequencies. She checks each new patient for cranial or cervical instability prior to any cervical adjustment, and uses neuro-myofascial release when indicated. Dr. Seebacher is also able to provide corrective and appropriate exercise, especially restoring core strength. She also uses RockTape or Kinesiotape to provide support for muscles and joints, as well as using things to protect the delicate skin of EDS patients when using adhesives. Dr. Seebacher is also helpful to patients having Dysautonomia and POTS.

Revive Counseling and Consulting
Sometimes it feels like your illness runs your life. Each morning, you wake up wondering if it will be a “bad day” or a “good day” knowing that your body will make that decision. You might have migraines, stomach issues, and even chronic pain. Maybe you’re overwhelmed with managing a chronic illness, organizing doctor’s appointments, and tracking symptoms. You feel embarrassed at the thought of feeling bad when you go out – so you just don’t go out. If you’re Autistic/ADHD/AuDHD, you might hyperfocus on each scary new sensation or worry that you’re “missing something” in your body. Whether you’ve experienced a complicated surgery or just received your hyper-mobility/hEDS diagnosis, painful sensations and emotions can prevent you from feeling fully connected to others and even to yourself. Your body is your first home. It’s where you spend the most time, and you deserve to feel safe in it. Therapy can help you find relief and feel comfortable in your body again. I am a physical therapist specializing in pelvic health and joint hypermobility, and have hypermobility and dysautonomias myself. I have worked with numerous patients and clients with EDS/HSD/POTS/MCAS and chronic pain, and am systematic with how I address pain and the body. I am a firm believer that even with connective tissue issues and dysautonomias, a person can build up effective strength, decrease their symptoms, and participate in activities they are interested in. My passion with working with people with joint hypermobility and dysautonomias grew in 2022, when I created the Strong and Bendy exercise program and Oxbow Health & Wellness. This began as a few videos of exercises for clients who did not like reading my paper handouts, and wanted to follow along in real time with my cues, then grew to over 60 videos! This program address core strength, as well as the rest of the body, to improve joint stability and strength. These exercises are spinal neutral, have minimal position changes for those with dysautonomia, and are very gradual to avoid pain flares. They include exercises I do myself to keep pain at bay, and have been used successfully by a number of people I have worked with. For more one-on-one consultations, I am able to do in-home or online evaluations via my physical therapy practice, Great Lakes Pelvic Rehab. I am an out-of-network provider, so do not take insurance, but keep my costs well below the market value so that services are accessible to those who need them. Suunta Integrative Health
I am a “mostly-retired” psychiatric nurse practitioner who has hEDS, contracting very part time with Suunta, which is a compassionate and open-minded group of nurse practitioners and mental health therapists. I have decades of experience working with individuals with chronic illness and disability. In my current practice, I only treat individuals who have some type of chronic pain/illness, or other functionally limiting diagnosis. Most of my patients have EDS and many are neurodivergent. We work on processing cumulative trauma of all sorts, including “medical gaslighting”. Coping strategies for functional limitations and techniques/treatments for calming the autonomic nervous system are priorities. Grief and adjustment associated with loss of abilities, and the anxiety and depression which can develop from a life lived with these conditions are addressed, with an emphasis on each patient’s goals for their most fulfilling future.

Clegg and Guest Physical Therapy
Connective Tissue Disorders at Clegg & Guest PT. Connective tissue disorders, such a Marfan or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, cause systemic joint laxity of varying severity. Joint laxity leads to instability and pain. Stan has produced a unique training program in which clients learn to protectively posture and to actively stabilize the joints in safe positions throughout their various daily activities, including sport participation. At CGPT, we understand that living with hypermobility/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) comes with unique challenges. Our physical therapists bring more than just professional expertise-they have personal experience with hypermobility themselves, allowing them to provide compassionate, informed care. We understand the complexities of EDS, including co-existing conditions such as Dysautonomia, including Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), brain fog, and fatigue. We take a holistic approach to help manage symptoms. Both Stan Guest, PT, FAAOMPT, OCS and Melissa Scheck, MPT have extensive experience treating these disorders. They both personally live with a connective tissue disorder and experience the daily struggle to maintain an active lifestyle with minimal pain. Our expert team of physical therapists specializes in providing comprehensive care tailored to individuals managing these conditions. With a deep knowledge of hypermobility-related issues, we focus on helping build strength, improve joint stability, and enhance quality of life.

Healing with Heart
I’m Anna McConville, DPT , a physical therapist specializing in hypermobility, chronic pain, and mind-body integration —and I have cEDS myself. With over 30 years of experience , I’ve developed personalized movement, stability, and resilience-building strategies to help people with EDS live, work, and thrive. I blend craniosacral therapy, visceral therapy, Pilates, and mindfulness to create individualized programs that meet each person where they are. I know firsthand that coming home to our bodies can be challenging—but I also believe those with hypermobility have unique strengths. My goal is to help you tap into your body’s wisdom, build stability, and move with greater ease. I recently completed the Finding Functional Foundations program from the ECHO Society and am awaiting certification in June. I have created affordable small-group in-person and virtual training and classes based on this work. In 2025, I’m launching online programs focused on meditation, mindfulness, HeartMath resilience, and a 12-week EDS body-mind stress management course. I also offer flexible plans for those who need out-of-network care. If you’re looking for safe movement, stability strategies, and holistic pain management , I’d love to support you. Together, we can build resilience, confidence, and a stronger connection to your body.

Cianna's Conscious Collective
I work with individuals with hypermobility and connective tissue differences who are seeking nervous system regulation, symptom relief, and safer ways to move and rest in their bodies. My approach is not focused on aggressive strengthening or stretching, but on helping clients identify supportive postures, positions and movement strategies that accommodate joint instability, pain, and variable capacity. Sessions emphasize nervous system regulation, breathwork, gentle therapeutic movement, and body awareness to reduce muscle guarding, improve comfort and support daily function. I offer a calm, validating and trauma-informed environment — particularly supportive for individuals who experience chronic pain, sensory sensitivity, or dysautonomia-like symptoms alongside connective tissue challenge. Education and pacing are central, and clients are encouraged to listen to their body’s cues rather than push through discomfort. My role is to support nervous system safety and embodied awareness, helping individuals feel more settled and supported in their bodies while honoring the realities of hypermobility and connective tissue condition.

Complex Cares LLC
I offer many cares and evaluations remotely via telemedicine and may do house calls if needed for patients not able to travel/visit the clinic. I perform initial evaluations, provide long term cares and management of EDS as well as other associated conditions (including but not limited to mast cell diseases, dysautonomia, POTS, SIBO, etc). I opened my own practice after discovering the limited availability/access to cares for these conditions which I adored learning about and working with for many years. I especially love the complexity and challenge followed by seeing the great transformation in patients when able to get things under control.

Holistic Physical Therapy, Pilates, Yoga, and Coaching- Achieve Your Health Goals with Dr. Jennifer M. Nelson DPT, DScPT. My approach is that of a doctoral-level physical therapist who provides holistic, quality physical therapy and coaching targeted towards people with persistent pain and autonomic dysfunction and those who want a provider who can treat the whole body. I assist people by providing physical therapy, coaching, training and more. Let me help you connect with your health and wellness goals by meeting your personal needs online or in-person. What truly sets my approach apart is I will listen to you, take different concepts and diagnosis’s you may have gotten from numerous different providers and weed through it. Usually the providers are all saying the same thing but only looking at a small part of it so it sounds different. I help take the fear out of your condition and help you problem solve in a judgment free zone. There is no problem too small or big that we can’t work on. I truly believe you can do anything you want if you have the correct support (pun intended), understand the risks and have the time and drive to commit to it. I can help you find your unique path. Examples of treatments and approaches we can explore together: Breathing- Breathing patterns are at the heart of many problems. I commonly see people become stuck in one way of breathing leading to mechanical, postural and chemical problems throughout the body. There is no one “right” way to breathe all the time, and I will help you learn how to use different breathing methods becoming more efficient at using the oxygen you breathe in. Manual Therapy – Mobilization and manipulation of the joints and various soft tissue/massage techniques to help you use your body differently and get out of painful/dysfunctional patterns of movement. Manual therapy can also be used to help calm the nervous system and manage swelling/inflammation. Dry Needling – The ultimate deep tissue work. It is great for knots in muscles, tight fascia and scars. Dry needling is different from acupuncture but can be performed by an acupuncturist. Pain Science Education – The body talks to the brain and the brain talks to the body. Many treatments only focus on the way the body talks to the brain. Pain Science Education helps to teach the brain new ways to talk to the body and is wonderful for persistent problems. This may include self-talk, education, flash cards/memory games and mirrors depending on what is needed. Exercises – Movement in all forms. We will start from the foundation. Whether it is to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength or balance, we will assess your current movement patterns and how they are playing into the problem you are having. I will then help you learn new movement patterns to accomplish your goals. This often means small tweaks to exercises you are already doing to target muscles you have difficulty using or to stop using muscles you already use. We will discuss how many exercises you can do as homework as well so the program is truly individualized. Yoga – Yoga is a wonderful way for people to connect with themselves. Over the years some have turned the movement part of yoga into a workout rather than a time for moving meditation. I can help you understand both aspects to allow you to decide how your body can best use the asanas/poses and breathing techniques. Whether you are new or well-practiced, stiff or hypermobile, I will help you learn how to move into the asanas/poses safely and understand any challenging movement patterns to allow you to explore the posture in a new way. Energy Conservation – We are so accustomed to structuring our day around how much time we have instead of how much energy we have. I will help you learn how to structure your day around the energy you have. We will also look at the way you perform different activities and attempt to reduce the energy needed for those tasks or achieve a more optimal time structure per task. Basic Nutrition – We will assess whether you are meeting basic nutritional requirements and explore whether this may be contributing to your problem(s). Meditation Mindfulness – “I can’t meditate because I can’t get my head to stop thinking!” is something I hear frequently. That is OK! There are many forms of meditation. The types of meditation that require you to “clear your head” were designed for monks whose main objective was to connect with a higher power or enlightenment. This is a wonderful connection, but there are other benefits that you can achieve with different types of meditation that are designed for people who live in society and have attachments such as jobs, families and pets. Cognitive Behavioral – This is a powerful way to help you change habits and patterns. I use it most often to aid people in sleeping better, ending jaw clenching/grinding and stopping strong urges to run to the bathroom. We will look at how your body reacts to different places/situations/people and teach you a new pattern to replace the old habit. Training Plans – Do you have a fitness goal but don’t know where to start? Have you repeatedly been injured while training for a specific goal? Do you have a difficult time sticking with a plan? I can help you start or fine tune your training plans to keep you moving whether it be a 5k walk, marathon, triathlon, pull-ups or boxing match. We will explore your natural strengths as we determine what is needed to complete the task.

Light Spirit Studio, L.L.C.
Since around 2022 I have increasingly specialized my work as a Medical Massage Therapist with those with hypermobility and related conditions: mast cell activation syndrome, autoimmunity, migraine, chronic pain, neurovascular compression syndromes, food/drug/environmental sensitivity, joint instability, dysautonomia, gastroparesis, and more. I have gradually grown into Patient Advocacy as well as a result of seeing how underserved this community currently is. I completed a brief but very high quality training with the EDS Society in Health Advocacy in early 2025. I intend to pursue formal Board Certification in Patient Advocacy also in 2025. As a massage therapist , I work with pain and physical dysfunction related to all of the above conditions. My goals are to: help clients better understand and address their pain by understanding whatever physiological and mechanical principles we can observe, help clients reset dysfunctional movement patterns and gradually replace guarding patterns with more balanced posture, strength, and tone, while mechanically freeing any barriers to relief using scar release, golgi tendon organ techniques, visceral work, neurovascular compression testing and release, postural assessment, and many, many more tools learned or developed in over a decade of manual therapy experience, support clients in working toward further wellness by connecting them with local hypermobility-aware healthcare providers and coaches (physical therapists, occupational therapists, corrective exercise specialized personal trainers, feldenkrais, pilates, and Egoscue teachers, etc.) who can offer more in-depth training as needed–ideally in activities that clients will be inspired to maintain, help clients to reach the right healthcare providers to address any open healthcare concerns –whether we need to look together locally for an appropriately aware provider in the right specialty or far-afield to address less-understood implications of hypermobility. As a patient advocate, I’ve made my mission to improve local healthcare for hypermobility and related conditions by: hosting our local EDS Society affiliated group to share information and other resources and to grow community among those who mutually understand the particular challenges of these conditions and can offer suggestions and connections born of experience, connecting clients with local and distant healthcare providers whom I trust to work well with hypermobility and related conditions, working with clients on presenting often long and long unaddressed history of symptoms such that the big picture won’t be missed for its complexity, bringing healthcare providers’ attention to hypermobility related, presently underdiagnosed conditions connect clinicians with high quality resources on how to best serve those in our community educate community members in a position to screen for hypermobility and related conditions before they become health crises: midwives, doulas, teachers & athletic coaches…. facilitate the involvement of advanced specialists in offering local training to grow needed expertise in our own community. This mission is a labor of love. I have seen too many family members as well as clients go with unaddressed healthcare concerns for years, navigating very difficult situations for themselves since too little was known or the right connections weren’t made–in a system that further privileges those with uncomplicated health and resources. We’re entering a season in which to begin to build the manual for caring for the hypermobile, sensitive body from the start. I believe our sensitivity is a gift and that as we use it to understand our own better care we’ll better the world as well–bringing more of ourselves to all the good efforts we dream of. I’m glad to offer a brief free consultation for advocacy or bodywork services, and you can also connect for free by asking to have your email address put on our local group’s email list. In order to maximize accessibility I offer a sliding scale and I work with insurance wherever possible. Though credentialing opportunities are limited for massage therapists, I’m currently able to work with Cigna and Mi Via. I’m working toward being able to work under VA funding and with HSA and FSA payments. If superbills, receipts, or other documentation helps you to get reimbursement I’m glad to provide it.

Inspira Physical Therapy
At Inspira, we understand the challenges that individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) face. These conditions are characterized by joint hypermobility, connective tissue issues, and a wide range of symptoms that can affect various systems in the body. Our dedicated team of physical therapists is committed to providing specialized care and support to help patients manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. Comprehensive Evaluation & Tailored Treatment Plans When you choose Inspira for EDS/HSD physical therapy, our first step is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation. We take the time to understand each patient’s specific symptoms, joint hypermobility, and any related complications they may be experiencing. This assessment allows us to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses individual needs and goals. Our physical therapists are experienced in working with patients with EDS and HSD, and we understand that each patient’s condition is unique. Physical Therapy at Inspira Strengthening exercises, joint stabilization techniques, and manual therapy methods such as massage and proprioceptive functional manual therapy. The integration of Winback Tecar Therapy further enhances our treatment options, providing advanced technology to support tissue healing and pain relief. Our specialized Muldowney method focuses on personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. We also incorporate Pilates Equipment Integration and Kinesiotaping to optimize movement patterns and support joint stability. In addition to the physical aspects of our treatments, we prioritize lifestyle modifications and education, helping patients identify pain triggers and adopt safe movement practices in their daily lives. Furthermore, promoting good sleep hygiene is a crucial aspect of our approach, recognizing the importance of restful sleep in facilitating the body’s natural healing processes. Through this comprehensive and holistic approach, we aim to empower our patients to achieve lasting pain relief, improved function, and an enhanced quality of life. Strengthening and Stabilizing Joints One of the primary goals of physical therapy for EDS/HSD is to strengthen and stabilize the affected joints. Hypermobility and joint instability can lead to pain, subluxations, and dislocations. Our therapists employ targeted exercises and techniques to build strength in the muscles surrounding the joints, providing greater support and reducing the risk of injuries. Pain Management Strategies Chronic pain is a common challenge for individuals with EDS and HSD. Our physical therapists are well-versed in various pain management techniques. By addressing pain, we aim to improve overall comfort and functionality, enabling patients to engage in daily activities with greater ease.

I am a personal trainer with hEDS and POTS (among other things). After completing a BA in Psychology and Coaching, I became certified as a personal trainer and then went on to complete multiple advanced certifications, including the fitness industry’s most respected certification, CSCS. I have an MS in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. Through my education, living with EDS myself, and spending years training clients with EDS and other chronic health struggles, I have developed unique programming and methods for helping those with EDS build stability, strength, and cardiovascular endurance. I launched online programs in 2023 designed to help those with severe limitations due to joint issues and dysautonomia; research consistently shows that exercise greatly improves quality of life for those with EDS, and I wanted to make getting started on an exercise program more accessible for those with EDS. In addition to offering online programs on zebraworkouts.com I train clients in-person at my gym, Intersect Fitness in Matthews NC. I also have number of clients who I train virtually through FaceTime or Zoom. Feel free to reach out over email with questions. Beyond Physical Therapy is a Performance-based rehab clinic in Raleigh, NC that offers private sessions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. What sets us apart from other PT offices is that we strive to rehab our patients injury fully while also expanding their bodies capacity to reduce future occurrences. We believe that physical therapy needs to be trauma-informed and customized for each patient’s needs. We also recognize that there is so much more to a person’s story than simply their injury. By addressing the whole person we see more substantial changes for the long term. We specialize in treating patients with various degrees of hypermobility, some of which who have been diagnosed with EDS. (Some of our patients do not have an official EDS diagnosis but a strong clinical history and presentation of it.) Our practice takes on an approach that is comprehensive and includes extensive education about their condition, manual therapy to address their pain, and safe movement to stabilize joints. We teach our patient’s how to move properly and care for their bodies. The education is what allows patients to advocate for themselves to truly achieve body autonomy. Our practice also provides many other local resources to assist with the comorbidities and other challenges such as digestive issues, dysautonomia (POTs), mental health, disordered eating, etc. and collaborate with their other providers,

Dazzling Spoons Counseling
I work with professional women who have chronic pain and/or chronic illnesses, many of whom have experienced some combination of being ignored, misdiagnosed, and gaslighted. My clients are trying to be kind to themselves, to trust themselves, and to find ways to get the support that they need without having to prove that their pain is real or that they’re trying hard enough. Before they came to see me, they feared they were out of options. They worried coming to see me would mean being told the same thing they’d heard so many times before, without any interest in or understanding of their actual experience: “Think more positive,” “lose weight,” and “just do yoga.” And they were pretty sure they’d never find someone who would believe them. Like my clients, you deserve to have a doctor’s appointment that doesn’t leave you in tears. And getting the accommodations and support you need to succeed at work doesn’t have to be totally out of your reach. I believe that all bodies are good bodies, and that includes your body. If you want to learn to be kind to and trust yourself—to believe that you are not and have never been the problem—I’d love to help you get there.

My practice specializes in supporting individuals with EDS and chronic illnesses, offering a compassionate space to work through the unique challenges of these conditions. I am a licensed psychologist and have multi-state license in both California (#33158) and Oregon (#4026). I offer telehealth appointments throughout Oregon and California, as well as in-person availability in Ventura, CA. I understand that the physical pain, fatigue, and uncertainty of EDS can make it hard to get through daily life, let alone manage the endless stream of medical appointments and advocacy demands. Many of my clients come to me feeling emotionally isolated, burned out, and grieving the loss of a life they once envisioned. Together, we explore ways to reclaim control, build resilience, and create a life that honors your reality without losing sight of hope. Through therapy, I help clients: Process the grief and emotional weight of living with a chronic illness. Develop tools to manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Strengthen self-compassion and reduce the isolation that comes with invisible conditions. Learn strategies to cope with the unpredictability of symptoms while finding joy and meaning in life again. You’ve likely spent so much energy trying to hold it all together—managing your symptoms, keeping up with life, and trying to be understood by those around you. What if you didn’t have to spend every ounce of energy just surviving? Together, we’ll carve out a path that helps you find moments of calm, connection, and clarity, even amidst the challenges of EDS. As a person with hEDS, I have the lived experience of the nuance and mystery of hypermobility. In my clinical practice, I find it extremely rewarding to work with all types of EDS, because of its relationship to connective tissue and the nervous system. I blend Swedish techniques (to relax the body and mind) with targeted myofascial release (to mitigate connective tissue dysfunction) and neuromuscular therapies (to ensure proper function of all stabilizing muscles and elimination of trigger points). I also find that applying craniosacral therapy with EDS clients assists in gently realigning the bones and structures of the spine, skull, pelvis, as well as the rest of the body. I am always seeking to improve clients’ proprioception and internal awareness, while alleviating pain. I also teach bodywork at the local massage college, and am excited to share information and self care strategies with my clients, particularly since I myself have recovered from many hypermobility-related injuries and dysfunctions. I hope to provide holistic support in accessing easeful movement, helpful resources, and increased quality of life. Living Energy Wellness
I’m passionate about helping individuals with EDS and the interconnected triad of MCAS, and POTS understand the root causes behind their complex symptoms. Having personally recovered from this triad myself, I recognize that these conditions aren’t separate problems but interconnected expressions of disrupted cellular energy and environmental mismatch. My approach focuses on addressing EDS as the foundational connective tissue instability that often triggers the immune hyperreactivity of MCAS and autonomic dysfunction of POTS. Rather than just managing symptoms, I work with clients to restore their body’s bioenergetic capacity through environmental optimization, including light therapy, EMF mitigation, and circadian rhythm support. As a Board Certified Quantum Biology Practitioner, I believe every person deserves to understand their body’s incredible capacity for healing when given the right environmental conditions. Through education and individualized care, my clients gain the knowledge and tools needed to break free from the cycles that keep them trapped in chronic illness. Services include environmental assessments/mitigation, red light therapy, and personalized education and coaching protocols. Based in Portland, Oregon, serving clients nationwide.

Empower Your Healing Journey with Expert Guidance As a Doctor of Physical Therapy living with hEDS, POTS, CCI, bilateral jugular vein stenosis, Pelvic Venous Disease (Pelvic Congestion Syndrome/May-Thurner Syndrome), chronic CSF leaks, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension , I intimately understand the challenges of hypermobility-related conditions. With 15 years of clinical experience in orthopedics, pelvic health, and hypermobility/dysautonomia , I combine science-backed strategies with compassionate, individualized care to help you regain control of your health and befriend your body. Before becoming a PT, hypermobility served me well as a professional dancer. Now, with 30 years of experience teaching movement, I take a holistic, evidence-based approach —blending therapeutic exercise, Pilates, yoga therapy, mindfulness, and vagal nerve stimulation —to help retrain the autonomic nervous system so that it can shift to a more balanced state. Regulating the nervous system from a state of chaos to calm allows your protective mechanisms- like pain, ANS dysfunction, and MCAS- to recalibrate and become helpful warning signals rather than hypersensitive alarms that sound off inappropriately, causing chronic symptoms rather than helpful alerts. My ideal clients are curious learners eager to understand how their hypermobility and physiological adaptations have shaped them. Education has been a vital part of my own healing, and I love helping others harness their resilience to retrain their nervous system and optimize function. Research shows that neuroplasticity is not diminished in hypermobile individuals —our brains and bodies can rewire and adapt. There is hope. 📌 Telehealth PT is available for patients in South Carolina and North Carolina. Virtual health coaching is available regardless of location. Learn more & book here: [Health Coaching with Dr. Cat](https://dr-cat.embodiaapp.com/patientportal/clinicpackages). My research focuses on autonomic regulation, vagal nerve stimulation, neuroplasticity, and healing from trauma —including the medical trauma of delayed diagnosis, conflicting messages from healthcare professionals, and misdiagnosis or mistreatment. Sarah is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with five years of experience treating complex orthopedic, neurological, and systemic conditions, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), POTS, and other forms of dysautonomia. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University. Sarah is trained in dry needling and has completed extensive continuing education through the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI), where she is currently preparing to pursue professional certification through the institute. Her approach is rooted in a systemic understanding of how the body functions—physically and neurologically. Sarah incorporates principles of PRI to address positional imbalances that impact breathing, movement, and nervous system regulation. She has a growing clinical interest in the role of visual input, dental occlusion, and footwear in postural control and autonomic balance, especially in hypermobile or dysautonomic populations. Having personally navigated her own journey with dysautonomia and hypermobility, Sarah brings compassion and perspective to her clinical care. She believes in working with her patients to help them feel more stable, supported, and empowered from the inside out. Outside the clinic, Sarah is an adjunct professor at the Hardin-Simmons DPT Program and enjoys spending time with friends, learning to play guitar, fly fishing, traveling, and staying active—especially with anything outdoors. She has a background in triathlon and completed a Half Ironman, and she continues to explore new hobbies that blend creativity, movement, and curiosity.

This is a private, integrative clinic focused on providing specialized and individualized care for complex conditions. I treat in person in Boerne, TX (just outside San Antonio) and provide virtual wellness, coaching and doula services around the world. I have a limited amount of openings in Austin for in-person treatment as well. My primary specialty is treatment for those with Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, POTS, Dysautonomia, and/or MCAS. I myself have hEDS and POTS, and have spent many years studying the physiology, symptoms, and various treatment approaches to managing this condition. I have now regained 95% of my function and am passionate about empowering patients to do the same. After years of working with my fellow zebras, I have developed a unique approach that is approachable and mutlifaceted, addressing the mind, body and nervous system from various angles at once so that we can truly get to the ‘root’ of each person’s issues, and from there build a strong foundation and grow. I use a blend of vagus and nervous system retraining, vestibular/balanace rehab, visceral (organ) mobilization, craniosacral therapy, myofascial therapy, pelvic floor therapy, scar tissue release, and diet/lifestyle modification education. I often provide patients with gradual and progresive video home exercises they can safely do at home, focusing first on the nervous system and alignment before any strengthening to prevent the flare ups common with EDS and PT. If virtual, I can provide much of this education and exercise coaching online, and can teach you and/or loved ones how to do self releases of your muscles and organs at home. I am also passionate about helping problem solve with my virtual patients, working with them to find a team of well-trained local doctors, medical massage therapists, or other practitioners that can provide many of the specialized techniques I can, while I help guide the general direction of care. All sessions are one-on-one, and I am cash-based/ out of network with all insurances, however I can provide superbills for reimbursement to those in Texas. Sessions vary in length from 15 -120 minute depending on what the patient needs, and I also offer all-day intensive therapy options for my out of town patients who want to fly in for some hands-on work, as long as it is scheduled 1-2 months in advance. ‘Bend but not break’ is my personal motto – The strongest trees in the world can bend like crazy in a storm without snapping, it’s a superpower, but only if they have a deep and strong root system. We are bendy, we get thrown off easily by the external environment, yes – but that also means that with the right tool box and foundation, we can adapt and get back to thriving quicker than most. It often means we are highly empathetic, amazing friends and leaders, and pioneers in the health and wellness field because of how much we notice that which others block out. Its a double-edged sword and a huge burden, but I want to help others carry it so we can find the blessings in it as well.

Necks to Heaven LLC
We specialize in the analysis and specific correction of the upper cervical spine using soundwave technology. This helps balance the communication between the brain and body which in turn allows the body to heal and hold the correction for longer and longer periods of time. Muscle balance is incredibly important in the stabilization of joints and can result in alleviation of symptoms related to instability. The adjustment isn’t forceful and does not stress the ligaments. Neurologically, the brainstem is heavily impacted and can lead to improvement in dysautonomia. Instead of needing an adjustment every few days you can go several weeks and sometimes months between adjustments. The doctor suffers from EDS as well and has treated and does currently treat many patients with varying degrees of EDS/HSD related symptoms. They are the ones who encouraged us to register with the EDS society so that more EDS/HSD patients can find us and benefit from our care.

Love and Light Wellness
I found my way into this work the same way many people with EDS do—by necessity. After navigating multiple chronic illness diagnoses in my early twenties, including Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, and MCAS, I turned to mindfulness, yoga, and nervous-system-supportive practices to make sense of my experience. I know firsthand what it’s like to live in a body that requires creativity, pacing, and constant problem-solving. And I also know the incredible joy that can come from finding strategies, movements, and routines that actually help and don’t make you flare for three days. Today, I blend lived experience with training as a hypermobility-aware yoga instructor, Nationally Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and meditation mentor. My approach is compassionate, practical, and built around the understanding that our spoons are limited—but our potential for meaningful change isn’t. What I Offer [💬 Free 30-minute Consultations](https://calendly.com/loveandlightwellnessvt/30min) A chance for us to meet, talk through your goals, and see what kind of support would feel most helpful. [🧭 Patient Empowerment Coaching](https://www.loveandlightwellnessvt.com/patient-empowerment-coaching) Patient Empowerment Coaching is for anyone who: Is trying to get diagnosed with a primary or secondary condition Just received a diagnosis and has no idea what to do next Feels stuck, dismissed, or overwhelmed in medical settings Needs a roadmap for navigating complex chronic illness care Wants guidance from someone who actually lives with hEDS, POTS, and MCAS Finally getting answers about your health can be life-changing. But answers without direction can leave you just as lost. My job is to help you: Understand what your diagnoses actually mean Build a realistic care plan that fits your energy and symptoms Identify the right providers (locally or virtually) Prepare for appointments and advocate for your needs Cut through the noise, referrals, gatekeeping, and endless waitlists Feel grounded, informed, and supported—every step of the way No more waiting six months to see a specialist only to hear, “I don’t treat that,” or “You need another referral.” (What do some of them even specialize in—referrals? Yeah… we’re not doing that.) My Approach Living with EDS is complex. I won’t ever tell you to “push through” or “just try harder.” I believe in: Pacing and energy conservation Respecting your body’s limits Creating routines that are realistic, flexible, and supportive Small steps with big impact Honoring your lived experience You deserve care that understands chronic illness from the inside out. I’ve got you. Let’s do this—together.

The talented and dedicated staff of 8 therapists have been practicing for more than 80 years combined and provide a variety of physical therapy treatments for musculoskeletal conditions, caused by injury or disease, affecting ankles, feet, knees, hips, thoracic and lumbar spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and neck. Patients of all ages, from young children to elderly seniors, benefit from specialized treatment for neurological conditions, women’s health, Sarcoma tumor recovery, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and more. The founders of Advantage Physical Therapy have developed a reputation for excellence in physical therapy within the surrounding community, and regionally. They have developed their reputation in the Washington DC Metro area and beyond based on the experience they provide for their patients. They strive to individualize the care of each patient and give service above what would be considered the “normal” physical therapy experience. At Advantage Physical Therapy, they believe the initial evaluation is crucial to achieving a successful outcome. During a patient’s initial evaluation, the patient and therapist will have an exclusive one-on-one interaction and together design a customized treatment program to meet patient needs. Once the treatment program begins, patients will continue with their physical therapist and will not be assigned to aides or trainers. Furthermore, unless the patient requests otherwise, the physical therapist that performed the initial evaluation will treat him or her during every visit, creating a continuity of care that is the basis of a strong patient-therapist relationship which will enhance both the treatment and overall experience.

I help people managing frustrating chronic health conditions to regulate their nervous system and redesign their life so they can achieve their goals. I specialize in working with individuals managing chronic and invisible illnesses including EDS/hypermobility and related conditions like POTS/dysautonomia, , MCAS, migraine, pain, fatigue, and more. My overarching goal it to help my clients (re)connect to their bodies and (re)build body trust so they can feel empowered and confident to do what they love. My approach emphasizes nervous system regulation, increasing stability through movement strategies and adaptations, and practical lifestyle modifications. I incorporate nervous system and sensory regulation into to my work because I find that people often don’t understand how much these systems are impacting how they feel and act every day. Together, we create and implement a set of strategies to regulate your system, get you moving safely, and help you navigate health ups and downs so your life becomes more aligned with how you want to be living. In addition to a nervous system focus, I help my clients to increase insight around their triggers and build a wide toolkit of symptom management strategies, manage fatigue through activity pacing and energy conservation, improve their sleep, safely implement a movement program, and more!
