Wandering Pine Wellness - Spokane
About
Based in Spokane, Washington, this mental health practice focuses on hypermobility and chronic pain. Gina Romero, LICSW, LCSW Therapist | Founder of Wandering Pine Wellness As a therapist living with Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder (HSD), fibromyalgia, and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), I bring both personal understanding and clinical expertise to my work. I specialize in supporting adults with ADHD, chronic illness, and trauma, and I’m deeply familiar with the complex overlaps between ADHD, Autism, EDS, and related conditions. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming, offering holistic ADHD and Autism assessments alongside trauma-informed therapy. I’ve seen powerful progress in my clients with chronic illness through EMDR and integrate a range of approaches, including ACT, CPT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to meet each client where they are. Licensed in WA, NV, and CO, I offer virtual therapy and assessments that honor the lived realities of neurodivergent and chronically ill individuals. EDS Healthcare in Nevada
Nevada has no EDS Society Center of Excellence or dedicated connective tissue disorders program. Stanford Medical Center in California is the nearest major EDS resource. The Genetic Counselors Association of Nevada can help connect patients with genetic evaluation services. The University of Nevada School of Medicine has limited genetics resources.
Nevada's population is concentrated in Las Vegas and Reno, with vast rural areas in between. Las Vegas patients are closer to programs in Arizona (Center for Complex Neurology, EDS & POTS in Phoenix) while Reno patients are closer to California programs. Rural Nevada is extremely isolated from specialist care.
Finding Mental Health for EDS
Look for a therapist who has worked with chronic illness patients and understands that EDS-related anxiety and depression often have physical triggers, not just psychological ones.
