EDS Healthcare in Arkansas
Arkansas does not have an EDS Society Center of Excellence. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock has a genetics department that can assist with connective tissue disorder evaluations. Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri is the nearest designated Center of Excellence.
Much of Arkansas is rural, with limited access to specialists familiar with EDS. Patients in southern and eastern Arkansas face long drives to reach major medical centers. Telehealth consultations with out-of-state EDS programs can help bridge this gap.
Finding Physical Therapy for EDS
When choosing a PT for EDS, ask whether they have experience with hypermobility and use stabilization-first protocols rather than standard stretching routines.
