Texas TMJ & Pain Management
About
As an oral and facial pain specialist at Texas TMJ & Pain Management, I help patients who suffer from chronic and debilitating conditions such as headaches, jaw pain, nerve pain, and muscle pain. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, which is the highest level of certification in this field. I have over 15 years of experience as a dentist, with a background in general dentistry and oral surgery. My passion for orofacial pain and sleep medicine stems from my desire to provide comprehensive and evidence-based care to patients who often struggle to find effective solutions for their complex and multifactorial problems. I completed my residency at UCLA, where I learned from leading experts in the field and gained exposure to a variety of clinical cases and research projects. I also spent a year as a visiting scholar at NYU, where I deepened my knowledge and skills in diagnosing and treating orofacial pain and sleep disorders. I am committed to staying updated on the latest advances and best practices in this rapidly evolving specialty, and to educating and empowering my patients and colleagues on the importance of addressing orofacial pain and sleep issues.
EDS Healthcare in Texas
UT Southwestern in Dallas is a leader in EDS research and clinical care. Mind+Body Medicine in Dallas has an intensive outpatient program for EDS patients. Texas Medicaid implemented a new genetic testing policy effective October 2025 that covers testing with documented medical necessity. The Texas Association of Genetic Counselors supports statewide access to genetic evaluation.
Texas's vast geography creates enormous access disparities. The Dallas-Fort Worth area has the strongest EDS resources, but patients in South Texas, West Texas, the Panhandle, and East Texas may face drives of 5-8 hours to reach specialized care. The state's sheer size means telehealth is essential for many patients. Wait times at UT Southwestern can also be significant.
Finding Dental / TMJ / Orofacial for EDS
Let the provider know upfront that you may need extra local anesthetic and frequent breaks, since EDS patients often have medication resistance and jaw instability during procedures.
