Dr. Daganzo is a specialist in eating disorders as well as complex chronic conditions and medically unexplained symptoms. This includes those who may be suffering from symptoms of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), postural orthostatic intolerance syndrome (POTS) and myalgic encephalitis among several others. She established her practice to fill a void in the medical community at the intersection of medical and psychiatric healthcare. Dr. Daganzo has a unique background in the physical sciences including an advanced degree in physics from UC Berkeley. She brings her intense intellect, logic and curiosity combined with her compassion and passion for medicine and lifelong learning to every patient relationship. She works tirelessly as her patient’s advocate to get the care they need to meet their health goals and find answers.

The NYIT EDS/Hypermobility Treatment Center operates in Old Westbury and Central Islip, offering specialized rehabilitation and treatment. Mount Sinai South Nassau Chiari EDS Center in Oceanside focuses on EDS with Chiari malformation. Weill Cornell provides pain management expertise. New York Medicaid covers genetic testing with prior authorization. Wait times at major programs can be 6 months or longer.
Both EDS Centers of Excellence are on Long Island, leaving upstate New York significantly underserved. Patients in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, and the Adirondacks face drives of 4-6+ hours to reach these programs. Wait times of 6 months or more are common. Rural upstate access is very limited, and telehealth is important for follow-up care.

Look for a PCP willing to serve as your care coordinator across multiple specialists and who screens for EDS cardiovascular, GI, and neurological complications at regular intervals.
