I am a Physical Therapist of 30+ years that prides myself on delivering individualized 1:1 care using the latest evidenced based practices. Patients describe me as a kind, out of the box thinker that challenges them to do things they thought weren’t possible. I am recognized as a specialist in Dry Needling from the Maryland Board of PT Examiners, and am an Instructor with Myopain Seminars, a company that teaches dry needling and pain science techniques across the globe. My Private Practice is New Moon Physiotherapy, in Parkville ,Maryland. I have the pleasure of also working at Bethesda Physiocare, a practice which has the recognition of being an EDS Center of Excellence, focusing on EDS patients and their specific and specialized needs. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Breathwork Instructor, I use my unique blend of Eastern and Western approaches to help my patients reach their highest potential. I understand EDS and the challenges my bendy-bodied patients face.
EDS Healthcare in New York
The NYIT EDS/Hypermobility Treatment Center operates in Old Westbury and Central Islip, offering specialized rehabilitation and treatment. Mount Sinai South Nassau Chiari EDS Center in Oceanside focuses on EDS with Chiari malformation. Weill Cornell provides pain management expertise. New York Medicaid covers genetic testing with prior authorization. Wait times at major programs can be 6 months or longer.
Both EDS Centers of Excellence are on Long Island, leaving upstate New York significantly underserved. Patients in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, and the Adirondacks face drives of 4-6+ hours to reach these programs. Wait times of 6 months or more are common. Rural upstate access is very limited, and telehealth is important for follow-up care.

When choosing a PT for EDS, ask whether they have experience with hypermobility and use stabilization-first protocols rather than standard stretching routines.
