About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with individuals living with chronic illness and chronic pain. Living with health challenges or adjusting to new stages of life can sometimes feel overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting and you don’t have to do it alone. I focus on helping clients reframe thought patterns, build practical coping strategies, and find realistic solutions that support a better quality of life. Through my lived experience with chronic illness I have noticed the gap in the mental health options for those seeking counseling and I hope to be one small change in this highly needed area. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and empowerment. Through my own life experiences, I understand how deeply your physical and emotional struggles can impact daily living, relationships, and self-identity. This lived perspective allows me to truly relate to my clients and meet them with empathy rather than judgment. Together, we work to reduce distress, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable change so you can feel more supported, capable, and empowered in your life.

EDS Healthcare in Texas

UT Southwestern in Dallas is a leader in EDS research and clinical care. Mind+Body Medicine in Dallas has an intensive outpatient program for EDS patients. Texas Medicaid implemented a new genetic testing policy effective October 2025 that covers testing with documented medical necessity. The Texas Association of Genetic Counselors supports statewide access to genetic evaluation.

Texas's vast geography creates enormous access disparities. The Dallas-Fort Worth area has the strongest EDS resources, but patients in South Texas, West Texas, the Panhandle, and East Texas may face drives of 5-8 hours to reach specialized care. The state's sheer size means telehealth is essential for many patients. Wait times at UT Southwestern can also be significant.

Finding Mental Health for EDS

Look for a therapist who has worked with chronic illness patients and understands that EDS-related anxiety and depression often have physical triggers, not just psychological ones.
