Finding Passion in Movement

About

Combining all of her knowledge in physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, alignment and chronic pain, Danielle is excited to continue making a difference in a community she is extremely passionate about. As someone who lives with EDS, she is looking forward to empowering individuals with hypermobility and chronic pain to know they are capable of more than they realize, and to gain the strength and stability they need to safely return to the hobbies and/or the movement routines they may have put on hold. She is determined to help her clients Find Passion in Movement again. Not only is her practice centered around movement, but Danielle is also very excited to introduce helping patients navigate the healthcare system as a Patient Advocate for the hypermobile EDS & HSD population. As both a patient herself and a Patient Coordinator at Physical Therapy facilities, Danielle understands the ins and outs of insurance, while always prioritizing patient care. In the clinic, Danielle has gone above and beyond helping patients obtain authorization approval in a timely manner. As a patient healthcare advocate, Danielle’s responsibilities include but are not limited to organizing medical records, helping patients feel prepared for their medical appointments, instilling confidence in patients to voice concerns and advocate for necessary testing, as well as encouraging patients to make informed decisions about their healthcare choices. With Danielle’s support, you will not feel alone on your journey of navigating life with chronic pain.

EDS Healthcare in New York

The NYIT EDS/Hypermobility Treatment Center operates in Old Westbury and Central Islip, offering specialized rehabilitation and treatment. Mount Sinai South Nassau Chiari EDS Center in Oceanside focuses on EDS with Chiari malformation. Weill Cornell provides pain management expertise. New York Medicaid covers genetic testing with prior authorization. Wait times at major programs can be 6 months or longer.

Both EDS Centers of Excellence are on Long Island, leaving upstate New York significantly underserved. Patients in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, and the Adirondacks face drives of 4-6+ hours to reach these programs. Wait times of 6 months or more are common. Rural upstate access is very limited, and telehealth is important for follow-up care.
