Connective Health Consulting
About
I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and I am Reiki Level One Certified. In July 2024 I will complete the Ehlers-Danlos Society’s hosted certification the Integral Movement Method taught by Jeannie Di Bon as well as the NASM Corrective Exercise Specialty. Connective Health Consulting offers virtual client care in these areas of practice, with a carefully tailored approach to address the specific needs of this population. As a patient with Hypermobile EDS, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and Hyperadrenergic POTS, among other comorbidities, I am well aware of the adaptations and special considerations needed to support these patients. I was in and out of physical therapy for injuries and pain since childhood. It wasn’t until I completed the Clarkson research study with Jeannie Di Bon and Dr. Russek, that I began to find improved joint stability. I am delighted to be taking the EDS Society Fundamentals ECHO Fundamentals of the Integral Movement Method Course and I hope that my practice, Connective Health Consulting will help support others looking to find support in their journey to improved strength and stability. I want to help others facing chronic illness regain their strength through personal training, support clients navigating the healthcare system, and provide health and wellness coaching that empowers clients to meet their goals. Do you have dreams that you want to work towards? Are you falling through the cracks in our medical system? Are you struggling to remain working? Have you plateaued in Physical Therapy? I want to help. Please reach out or share this with someone who might need support from someone who has been there.
EDS Healthcare in New York
The NYIT EDS/Hypermobility Treatment Center operates in Old Westbury and Central Islip, offering specialized rehabilitation and treatment. Mount Sinai South Nassau Chiari EDS Center in Oceanside focuses on EDS with Chiari malformation. Weill Cornell provides pain management expertise. New York Medicaid covers genetic testing with prior authorization. Wait times at major programs can be 6 months or longer.
Both EDS Centers of Excellence are on Long Island, leaving upstate New York significantly underserved. Patients in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, and the Adirondacks face drives of 4-6+ hours to reach these programs. Wait times of 6 months or more are common. Rural upstate access is very limited, and telehealth is important for follow-up care.
Finding Allergy / Immunology for EDS
Ask whether the allergist tests for both tryptase and prostaglandin D2 levels when evaluating for mast cell activation syndrome, since a single normal tryptase result does not rule out MCAS.
