Beyond Physical Therapy

About

Beyond Physical Therapy is a Performance-based rehab clinic in Raleigh, NC that offers private sessions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. What sets us apart from other PT offices is that we strive to rehab our patients injury fully while also expanding their bodies capacity to reduce future occurrences. We believe that physical therapy needs to be trauma-informed and customized for each patient’s needs. We also recognize that there is so much more to a person’s story than simply their injury. By addressing the whole person we see more substantial changes for the long term. We specialize in treating patients with various degrees of hypermobility, some of which who have been diagnosed with EDS. (Some of our patients do not have an official EDS diagnosis but a strong clinical history and presentation of it.) Our practice takes on an approach that is comprehensive and includes extensive education about their condition, manual therapy to address their pain, and safe movement to stabilize joints. We teach our patient’s how to move properly and care for their bodies. The education is what allows patients to advocate for themselves to truly achieve body autonomy. Our practice also provides many other local resources to assist with the comorbidities and other challenges such as digestive issues, dysautonomia (POTs), mental health, disordered eating, etc. and collaborate with their other providers,
