About

Based in Lansing, Michigan, this physical therapy practice focuses on hypermobility, POTS and dysautonomia and more. I am a physical therapist specializing in pelvic health and joint hypermobility, and have hypermobility and dysautonomias myself. I have worked with numerous patients and clients with EDS/HSD/POTS/MCAS and chronic pain, and am systematic with how I address pain and the body. I am a firm believer that even with connective tissue issues and dysautonomias, a person can build up effective strength, decrease their symptoms, and participate in activities they are interested in. My passion with working with people with joint hypermobility and dysautonomias grew in 2022, when I created the Strong and Bendy exercise program and Oxbow Health & Wellness. This began as a few videos of exercises for clients who did not like reading my paper handouts, and wanted to follow along in real time with my cues, then grew to over 60 videos! This program address core strength, as well as the rest of the body, to improve joint stability and strength. These exercises are spinal neutral, have minimal position changes for those with dysautonomia, and are very gradual to avoid pain flares. They include exercises I do myself to keep pain at bay, and have been used successfully by a number of people I have worked with. For more one-on-one consultations, I am able to do in-home or online evaluations via my physical therapy practice, Great Lakes Pelvic Rehab. I am an out-of-network provider, so do not take insurance, but keep my costs well below the market value so that services are accessible to those who need them. Feel free to send me an email with any questions you may have, or how we can best work together to address your symptoms!

EDS Healthcare in New Jersey

New Jersey has no in-state EDS Center of Excellence. Mount Sinai South Nassau Chiari EDS Center in Oceanside, New York is the nearest Center of Excellence for northern New Jersey patients. The NYIT EDS/Hypermobility Treatment Center is also accessible from northern New Jersey. Southern New Jersey patients can access CHOP and Penn State Health's EDS Program in Pennsylvania.

New Jersey's location is actually an advantage — most residents are within 1-2 hours of multiple EDS programs in New York and Pennsylvania. The main challenge is navigating out-of-state insurance coverage and choosing among the available programs. Central New Jersey patients have access to both New York and Philadelphia options.

Finding Physical Therapy for EDS

When choosing a PT for EDS, ask whether they have experience with hypermobility and use stabilization-first protocols rather than standard stretching routines.
