Alane Wincek
Alpharetta, GA · Nutrition / Dietetics
Practitioner Profile – Alane Wincek, ND, CNC I am a certified holistic nutritionist, naturopath, with over 30 years of experience supporting complex, chronic health conditions. I specialize in Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), hypermobility-related disorders, chronic pain, fatigue, autonomic dysfunction, mast cell activation, hormonal imbalance, metabolic dysfunction, and inflammatory conditions. What makes my work deeply personal is that I also live with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and a chronic condition. I understand firsthand the confusion, dismissal, and frustration that so many people with EDS experience—being told symptoms are “in your head,” struggling with pain that doesn’t follow a straight line, and feeling unsure how to move, eat, supplement, live, or even rest safely in your own body. While there is currently no known cure for EDS , I firmly believe—and have seen repeatedly—that with the right guidance, education, and individualized support , people with EDS can stay stronger, more mobile, clearer-headed, and significantly more comfortable in daily life. My Approach I work from a root-cause, whole-body perspective , recognizing that EDS does not exist in isolation. Joint instability, pain, and injury are often compounded by nervous system dysregulation, nutrient deficiencies, infections, viral overloads, mitochondrial dysfunction, hormonal shifts, gut and immune imbalance, and chronic inflammation. My approach focuses on: Personalized, holistic nutrition counseling to support connective tissue, vascular integrity, and metabolic health Functional lab testing to identify deficiencies, inflammation, infections, viral overloads, autonomic stress, mast cell activity, and metabolic dysfunction Strategic supplementation to support collagen integrity, muscle strength, energy production, inflammation, and recovery Nervous system support to reduce pain amplification, fatigue, and dysautonomia symptoms Lifestyle and movement guidance tailored specifically for hypermobile bodies—so patients know what to do and what to avoid Education and empowerment, so patients feel confident navigating daily life, flare-ups, and long-term planning I collaborate with medical providers when appropriate and help patients understand how to safely integrate both conventional and holistic strategies—without overwhelm or guesswork. Why Patients With EDS Choose to Work With Me People seek me out because they want: A practitioner who truly understands EDS from the inside out Clear guidance instead of vague reassurance Help connecting the dots between pain, fatigue, hormones, infection, viral load, digestion, inflammation, and mobility Support that is realistic, compassionate, and sustainable for long-term living Someone who listens, believes them, respects them, and helps them regain trust in their body Living with EDS requires ongoing support, adaptability, and informed decision-making. My role is to help patients feel less lost, less alone, and more empowered—so they can live fully, stay active in the ways that are right for them, and protect their health over the long term.

Atlanta, GA · Dental / TMJ / Orofacial
How the teeth fit together plays a major role in how the body can support itself. At Caughey DDS, every patient’s body alignment is taken into consideration before any definitive dentistry is accomplished. With children, we look at the development of the bite and oral cavity with respect to any compensations coming from the neck and visual fields – and our goal is to provide the stabilization and redirection necessary to reduce compensation and thereby provide for more symmetrical growth. With adults, we seek to create balance between the dependency on the bite for neck decompression with TMJ support. With all our patients whose compensations show up in the head and neck, referral to body workers is strongly considered.

She has recently begun partnering with colleagues at several institutions on EDS research focused on movement-based therapies. Clinically, she has a strong interest in providing psychological support and coping skills for adolescents and young adults with chronic pain in general, and specifically with EDS and HSDs. Her priority is providing a supportive and validating environment for her clients, given the pain and functional challenges faced by persons with EDS/HSDs, as well as the invalidation and stigma that many patients experience in their medical journey.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (LPC, CRC) who specializes in the psychological impact of living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility spectrum disorders, and related conditions including POTS, MCAS, gastroparesis, and chronic fatigue. I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience with chronic illness to this work. I understand that EDS affects every system in your body, not just your joints, and that you’re likely managing medical trauma from years of being dismissed, the grief of adjusting to limitations, the exhaustion of coordinating care across multiple specialists, and the anxiety of living in a body that feels unpredictable. My approach is biopsychosocial, meaning I won’t minimize your physical symptoms or tell you it’s “just anxiety,” but I also won’t ignore the very real emotional toll of navigating complex, multi-system illness. You won’t need to spend our time together educating me about what EDS is or defending your symptoms. I believe you. Virtual sessions available at www.thechronicillnesstherapists.com

Addison Chiropractic & Sports Clinic
Kennesaw, GA · Chiropractic
As a Sports Chiropractor for over 15 years, we have seen many young athletes from cheerleaders to gymnasts who exhibit the symptoms of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD). Many are hypermobile, have widespread body pain or pain in various areas, dislocate and bruise easily, take longer to heal and frequently return to our clinic with new injuries. We began implementing the Beighton Scale and given a review of their medical history suspect that many of these patients likely have EDS or HSD. This has led to the development of a Treatment Program for all ages where we are seeing great success using Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM). Many patients are seeing dramatic improvement in both pain and mobility. We’ve even had patients who were once primarily bedridden now able to fully function in daily life after undergoing treatment. FSM has become one of the most affordable and effective long-term solutions for many patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome to manage their pain and symptoms.

Dr. Cynthia Seebacher, D.C. focuses primarily on patients with chronic pain and chronic illness. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1999 and a Doctor of Chiropractic since 2015. Approximately 45% of her patients have hEDS, 2 daughters with hEDS and HSD herself. She provides a gentle chiropractic adjustment, moving major joints through their appropriate ranges of motion (hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, wrists) to neurologically re-set the nervous system for appropriate proprioception (body’s awareness through time and space). She utilizes microcurrent for vagus nerve stimulation, calming the nervous system, relaxing/releasing tension from muscles and strengthen ligaments and tendons through microcurrent frequencies. She checks each new patient for cranial or cervical instability prior to any cervical adjustment, and uses neuro-myofascial release when indicated. Dr. Seebacher is also able to provide corrective and appropriate exercise, especially restoring core strength. She also uses RockTape or Kinesiotape to provide support for muscles and joints, as well as using things to protect the delicate skin of EDS patients when using adhesives. Dr. Seebacher is also helpful to patients having Dysautonomia and POTS.

In 2017 Cathy entered the private practice world, focusing her clinical efforts on pelvic health. She has attended many conferences and continuing education courses regarding the treatment of conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome, and age-related changes affecting bowel and bladder functioning. With her broad range of experience across a spectrum of challenging patient needs, she has many “tools in the toolbox” to help clients achieve their best results. Cathy’s primary goal in treating her patients is to look at the whole person-psychologically, personally, nutritionally, and physically. She is interested in how all of the parts of the body interact with each other vs. treated segmented body parts in isolation. When Cathy is not treating her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 3 dogs. Her hobbies include painting furniture, attending Pilates classes, and visiting the beach as often as possible.

VMP is strictly a clinical private practice focused on patient care for children & adults from around the world with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, connective tissue disorders, mitochondrial disorders, and rare genetic disorders. While we strive to arrive at a precision diagnosis, we support many patients who exceed the limits of science and testing. We do not overbook appointments and pride ourselves on a no-wait policy. The first appointment for a Connective Tissue evaluation should be conducted in the clinic, allowing us to perform a physical exam. Each new patient appointment is allotted 90 minutes one-on-one with Dr Kendall. We recognize the stress our patients have endured due to the medical field in general, so we designed our offices and examination rooms to have a spa-like atmosphere. We are not an appointment mill, and 60-minute follow-up appointments are typically done once every 1 to 2 years, with every other one being done remotely. We send a text to prospective new patients with a link to a 12-minute video about our practice.
