Restorative Motion

About
The Feldenkrais Method of somatic education is an innovative approach to neuromuscular re-education built on the principles of biomechanics, neuroplasticity, and mind-body awareness. Feldenkrais practitioners approach your body holistically, looking at and working with movement patterns through the whole system, as opposed to in isolation. You can read more about the method [in the New York Times](https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/30/well/trying-the-feldenkrais-method-for-chronic-pain.html), [ Washington Post](https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/a-different-way-to-relieve-years-of-back-pain/2018/09/27/f3e663f4-b505-11e8-a2c5-3187f427e253story.html), or this [bestselling dive into neuroscience](https://www.amazon.com/Brain-That-Changes-Itself-Frontiers-ebook/dp/B000QCTNIW/ref=sr12?qid=1574903747&refinements=p27%3ADoidge+Norman&s=books&sr=1-2&text=Doidge+Norman). The method works in two ways: group “Awareness Through Movement” classes and private, usually hands-on sessions that also incorporate elements of ATM. I, myself, have EDS (hypermobile type), and specialize in working with individuals who have EDS, other chronic conditions, pain, and/or are recovering from injury. I enjoy helping people discover and refine their innate sense of healthy movement. My primary teachers studied with founder Moshe Feldenkrais, the founder of the method.
