Psychotherapy/Counseling for Adults (in office appointments in KC/ Telehealth available anywhere in Kansas or Missouri) As a provider with EDS, I am sensitive and aware of the struggles associated with this diagnosis. I help people cope with what is an impactful, “invisible” illness in a medical system that often fails to recognize it and, worse, can be traumatizing. As a psychotherapist, I do not treat the physical manifestations of EDS. I assist with cognitive-based pain management, grief, and loss associated with a chronic illness, resource sharing, avenues for self-advocacy, validation, coping strategies and creating an understanding therapeutic environment to address EDS-related and non-EDS related therapy needs. I also specialize in trauma recovery (childhood trauma, domestic violence, healthcare/health trauma, combat trauma, violence trauma, attachment/developmental trauma). My clinical training and experience are geared toward working with motivated adults who want to better understand how their past impacts their life. Past painful or challenging experiences can grow roots and impact how we feel, act, and relate in the present, impacting our physical and emotional health. The extraordinarily good and hopeful news is that within each person is the ability for self-leadership and healing. Therapy just helps guide the journey. My primary psychotherapies are Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Want to chat and figure out if we are a match for therapy? Call or text me at +1-816-793-6507 to schedule a 15-minute complimentary phone consultation. Payment Accepted: My full rate is $150/50-min for individual therapy ($175 for first intake appointment) and $175 for couples. I do offer some reduced rate appointment slots (on a limited basis) and can assist with reimbursement for out-of-network insurance benefits. Please reach out for more information about insurance.

Therapist turned Coach with 25+ years experience Specialization: Late Diagnosed Neurodiversity/Neurocomplexity Complex Trauma (CPTSD) Co-occuring & complex helath conditions My Connection to this Community At age 50, I pursued assessment for suspected neurodivergence as I was experiencing ongoing burnout, fatigue, & increasing anxiety despite addressing my own complex trauma & experiencing an increase in positive life events! Prior to & afterwards I continue to explore my own medical/health complexity. I have a lifelong history of being “sensitive” & experiencing the types of symptoms doctor’s struggle to treat. We may not have the same conditions & symptoms but I know that I can relate to the lived experience of invisisble & chronic illness. My clients often carry multiple health conditions of concern & struggle to find competent care within our medical system. Navigating these challenges can be frustrating, ignite anxiety & fear, & leave you feeling alone. Speaking truth & seeking support is welcome in our work together. While I am NOT a medical provider, I am familiar with the kinds of syndromes & conditions that often travel together. If this is resonant , I invite you & welcome you to work with me! Or if you are seeking supports for loved ones or your clients, I am happy to be a resource for you! While not a complete list, I find many of my clients appreciate working together to: 1. Differentiate what is their natural “wiring ” aka “hardware” – growing in awareness & acceptance of their sensitive systems & making changes that honors & supports rather than depletes. 2. Differentiate what is their conditioned “ programming ” aka “software” – the pressure to fit societal & family expectations & the internalized messages driving their own pressure to conform & perform. Internalized ableism + lack of external support & resources is a tricky reality to rumble with. 3. Change & transition invitesinner pushback of guilt, doubt, & shame – predictable place of feeling stuck. Reframes & unburdening through parts work can help address this. 4. Grief & relief come with diagnosis orself identification – looking back on past history with new understanding 5. Identity reorganization – letting go of the “old” you or versions of you & leaning into the “new”. 6. Energy management – balancing desire with fluctuating capacity, coping with burnout, lowering demands on the nervous system, increasing sensory soothing & decreasing sensory stressors. 7. Relationship dynamics – neurospicy families do best when they have an inclusive mindset & approach, shared language, & honor differences. Many clients are advocating for children, redefining partnership dynamics, scaffolding support to adult children, & dealing with aging parents. 8. Restoring belief & trust in Self & Others – this takes a hit from some “usual” suspects like relational betrayals, break-ups, medical gaslighting, toxic workplaces, educational discrimination, and religious/spiritual trauma. Some clients are deconstructing religious indoctrination & cult experiences. Issues of social justice & moral injury are often tied to these injuries & concerns. 9. Balancing self care & self improvement, healing, & recovery – a desire & quest for health & wholeness is human. Repair & recovery is a process. No one can do it perfectly & not 24/7/365. 10. Shorten your learning curve through my training, personal experiences, & pattern recognition while acknowldeging you are the expert on you;) We co-create sessions that honor how you process information, energy & emotions. We flex for periods of expansion & contraction, digging deep then resting & digesting, integrating in real life & refining. My role is to provide witnessing, feedback, pacing, structure, information, and tools & practices to meet you where you are while also normalizing & predicting common obstacles & pitfalls ahead. How My Practice Is Structured 1. I meet with clients 1:1 virtually during business hours, Central Time. Fees are private pay. 2. I am able to provide therapy to residents of Missouri & Arkansas – the 2 states I hold licensure in. Some clients submit their monthly statement for insurance reimbursement if their plan allows for out of network mental health coverage. 3. I offer coaching worldwide & enjoy working outside of the traditional medical/mental health model Other Ways We Can Connect & Work Together 1. I offer a free , private, virtual community, the Reset Collective , on Mighty Networks where I facilitate community connections & host live events. 2. I also offer paid coaching packages. See my website, Instagram Linktree, or email me for current offers and/or more information & current pricing. 3. I host a podcast & post across multiple social media platforms @ResetwithRenee. Who am I? I was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. My worldview encompasses the East and the West. I incorporate the philosophy that one’s mind, body, and ā tman(Sanskrit : inner self or soul) need investigation when approaching one’s health. What am I? I am honored to be a physician with a concierge medical practice in St. Louis, Missouri. My medical education ensured that I continued to uphold my heritage and values. I am a dedicated osteopathic physician who is committed to my Eastern principles. I incorporate this into my daily life and encourage my patients to do the same. I have the solution to the broken healthcare system in the US. I have been frustrated with the system as a physician and more personally as a patient. I have felt vulnerable and helpless. I feel like the sacred bond between the physician and patient needs to be restored.
