SpineFocus Physical Therapy
Dr. Mark earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Minnesota in 2016. Since graduating, he has focused on specialized spine care, accumulating nearly a decade of clinical experience (2016–2025) treating individuals with a wide range of spine-related conditions. Committed to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Dr. Mark has pursued advanced postdoctoral education to remain at the forefront of physical therapy practice. From 2019 to 2025, he completed extensive advanced coursework in human spine care through Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. This Manual Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME) series is internationally recognized as the “gold standard” in manual medicine education. In 2025, Dr. Mark founded SpineFocus Physical Therapy. SpineFocus was created in response to his extensive experience working with individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and his recognition of the gaps that often exist within insurance-based healthcare systems. His vision for SpineFocus is to provide a safe, supportive environment where individuals with EDS have autonomy in their care, individualized treatment plans, and the freedom to engage in therapy on their own terms. For over ten years, Dr. Mark has been a dedicated advocate and physical therapist for individuals with EDS. His treatment approach incorporates the principles developed by Kevin Muldowney, one of the few physical therapists who has demonstrated consistent progress in patients with EDS. Muldowney’s approach emphasizes advanced manual therapy skills—including osteopathic techniques, soft tissue mobilization, and muscle energy techniques—which are essential for effectively treating individuals with EDS. In addition to manual therapy, Dr. Mark integrates a structured, patient-specific, EDS-focused exercise program based on Muldowney’s methodology. This program allows for both progression and regression depending on the individual’s symptoms and capacity, supporting long-term function, stability, and improved quality of life. Opening this clinic has been a long-held dream of Dr. Mark’s. It is his hope that SpineFocus Physical Therapy serves as a place where individuals with EDS can find him, feel supported, and receive the care they deserve. Erin Shobe, Minnesota Therapist and Autism/ADHD Assessor
I offer individual, partner, and family therapy, from a neurodivergent informed lens, as well as ADHD and Autism Assessment for adults. I believe you are the expert in you – and that I am merely a guide to help you explore and uncover that expert within yourself. My work is rooted in a deep commitment to really see you and provide a safe space where you can get to know yourself, find greater ease, and grow beyond the patterns that may keep you from the life you hope to live. My clients have many different kinds of diagnosis (or none at all). I am often a good fit for empaths, neurospicy, and highly sensitive & creative types who are hoping to address complex PTSD/developmental trauma. I’m passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients. I am certified to use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Aside from the letters behind my name, I am a therapist who believes in the connection between body, mind, and spirit, and these are things I explore with my clients to help them find balance.

Healing with Heart
I’m Anna McConville, DPT , a physical therapist specializing in hypermobility, chronic pain, and mind-body integration —and I have cEDS myself. With over 30 years of experience , I’ve developed personalized movement, stability, and resilience-building strategies to help people with EDS live, work, and thrive. I blend craniosacral therapy, visceral therapy, Pilates, and mindfulness to create individualized programs that meet each person where they are. I know firsthand that coming home to our bodies can be challenging—but I also believe those with hypermobility have unique strengths. My goal is to help you tap into your body’s wisdom, build stability, and move with greater ease. I recently completed the Finding Functional Foundations program from the ECHO Society and am awaiting certification in June. I have created affordable small-group in-person and virtual training and classes based on this work. In 2025, I’m launching online programs focused on meditation, mindfulness, HeartMath resilience, and a 12-week EDS body-mind stress management course. I also offer flexible plans for those who need out-of-network care. If you’re looking for safe movement, stability strategies, and holistic pain management , I’d love to support you. Together, we can build resilience, confidence, and a stronger connection to your body.

Chronic Pain
Tessa Gittleman, PLLC
I decided to become a therapist because I was so disappointed in my own therapy. Providers explained away things that shouldn’t have been, I wasn’t viewed holistically, and I felt overlooked, ignored, and hopeless. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos, POTS, and a constellation of other health symptoms that come with it. I work hard to ensure my clients never experience the medical invalidation and gaslighting, that they feel increasingly confident to advocate for their needs, and that they know how to negotiate their needs in the various domains of their lives. My style is transparent, funny, collaborative, and experiential. I borrow from Motivational Interviewing, Somatic-Experiential, ACT, and IFS. These modalities help me to understand you, your situation, and how you’d measure success. From there, I help you demystify the dysfunction and develop a process for processing productively outside of therapy. People who think I’m a fit are often high-achieving individuals with an acute awareness of the issue, feel they have tried “everything” to fix it, and are giving therapy “one last chance.” I successfully get clients “unstuck” by challenging them in unconventional, collaborative ways. I intentionally push people 20% past where they are comfortable (because that’s where the growth happens!) and practice pivoting to ensure you have the skills to navigate, manage, and address the discomfort long-term.

Cianna's Conscious Collective
I work with individuals with hypermobility and connective tissue differences who are seeking nervous system regulation, symptom relief, and safer ways to move and rest in their bodies. My approach is not focused on aggressive strengthening or stretching, but on helping clients identify supportive postures, positions and movement strategies that accommodate joint instability, pain, and variable capacity. Sessions emphasize nervous system regulation, breathwork, gentle therapeutic movement, and body awareness to reduce muscle guarding, improve comfort and support daily function. I offer a calm, validating and trauma-informed environment — particularly supportive for individuals who experience chronic pain, sensory sensitivity, or dysautonomia-like symptoms alongside connective tissue challenge. Education and pacing are central, and clients are encouraged to listen to their body’s cues rather than push through discomfort. My role is to support nervous system safety and embodied awareness, helping individuals feel more settled and supported in their bodies while honoring the realities of hypermobility and connective tissue condition.

Jena Blackwood, PT, DPT, PLLC - Minneapolis
As a long-time mindfulness practitioner, meditation devotee, and lifelong learner, I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy to investigate mindfulness-based movement, resilience, and pain modulation through novel therapeutic approaches integrated with measurable physical therapy outcomes. My research focuses on chronic pain conditions, including hypermobility spectrum disorders, hEDS, and fibromyalgia. Clinically, my work spans connective tissue disorders (including hEDS and related hypermobility syndromes), craniocervical instability and cervicalgia, neurological and complex pain conditions, pelvic health, and multifactorial orthopedic presentations. I believe deeply in treating the whole person by integrating physical, neurological, and psychosocial dimensions to optimize outcomes. My therapeutic approach incorporates Pilates-based rehabilitation, breathwork and autonomic regulation, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and postural restoration, select osteopathic techniques (including craniosacral, visceral, and counterstrain methods), cognitive multisensory rehabilitation, lymphatic drainage, and other specialized body awareness training. I currently provide private clinical care in New York and Minneapolis.

Minnesota Chiro Health
At Minnesota Chiro Health, we provide thoughtful, individualized care for people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) by addressing the unique neuromusculoskeletal challenges associated with joint hypermobility and connective tissue differences. Rather than focusing on already hypermobile joints, our chiropractic approach emphasizes gently adjusting restricted or hypomobile segments to improve nervous system communication and overall movement efficiency. We pair this with targeted exercise rehabilitation designed to enhance joint stability, proprioception, and muscular support—key components for reducing pain and preventing recurrent strain in individuals with EDS. Equally important, we prioritize patient education, empowering individuals to better understand their neuromusculoskeletal health, movement patterns, and daily strategies that support long-term resilience, function, and confidence in their bodies.

Tesni Sunne is a licensed associate marriage and family therapist who sees residents of Minnesota (couples, teens, and adults) for telehealth therapy. Tesni has hEDS and works with clients to find areas of adaptation, meaning, and expansion within EDS and related conditions. A former scholar of disability, Tesni believes both that invalidation of complex disorders by Minnesota medical systems is real and that patients can nonetheless strengthen their empowerment within (and without) these systems. Specializing in helping couples with mixed abilities adjust to shifted roles, Tesni created the first group for couples in which one or more people have chronic illness/pain.
