About
I am a pediatric health psychologist specializing in helping children, adolescents, and young adults manage and cope with fluctuating daily symptoms, (including pain, sleep disturbances, and fatigue/energy challenges) and the accompanying impacts on emotional wellbeing and daily functioning. I specialize in working with pediatric patients experiencing complex chronic illnesses, such as EDS, dysautonomia, POTS, long COVID/post-viral syndromes, and chronic pain. Additionally, I provide support to neurodivergent and gender-expansive youth and I treat anxiety and sleep disorders in individuals with and without chronic illness. Additionally, I provide support to neurodivergent and gender-expansive youth and I treat anxiety and sleep disorders in individuals with and without chronic illness. My experience with patients experiencing pediatric EDS spans 20+ years, across training at top-ranked children’s hospitals’ interdisciplinary pain clinics and now in my private practice in Seattle, WA. Here, I care for patients in-person and via telehealth from 40+ states. I also continue to collaborate on pediatric behavioral health research with colleagues at the University of WA and Seattle Children’s Hospital. I actively seek out professional training opportunities to stay up to date on the best understanding of complex conditions, and recently completed several Project Echo trainings (Pediatric EDS, Pediatric Long COVID, and Pediatric Gender Affirmative Care). As a clinician-scientist, my treatment approaches are rooted in research-supported strategies, including CBT for pain, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), behavior modification, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I collaborate with my patients and their families to make individual treatment plans that incorporate their unique strengths and lived experiences and that aim to improve quality of life.
