Emily is a licensed professional counselor at the [Oklahoma Sex & Relationship Institute](https://www.emilydowns.com/) providing support for individuals, couples, & partnered systems with: chronic illness/disability, complex trauma, dissociative disorders, systemic oppression & minority stress, racial trauma, neurodivergence, identity, anxiety, and depression. Her practice is trauma-informed, BIPOC-friendly, inclusive of disabilities, neurodivergence-affirming, kink-aware, nonmonogamy-friendly, and sex-worker allied. Services are offered in person and online. — Emily is a survivor of complex trauma living with hEDS/MCAS/POTS along with several other chronic illnesses. She takes great care in providing a space that feels safe and supportive for those who have been harmed before by relationships with medical and mental health professionals. Emily believes that access to safe and affirming healthcare should be a right and not a privilege, and she aims to make mental health care accessible to as many as possible.
