She spent over a decade as the North Dakota volunteer for Postpartum Support International. She was also the Upper Midwest Volunteer Coordinator for this organization for many years. She was proud to help start universal screening for all new moms delivering at CHI St. Alexius Health upon moving to Bismarck. Another specialty area for Dr. Kenney has been working with individuals with chronic pain and chronic illness. She has worked in pain clinics and believes in the importance of comprehensive pain management. She finds working with individuals with functional neurological disorder, IBS, migraine, and other common but misunderstood conditions rewarding. She is an advocate for the use of the biopsychosocial model in the understanding and treatment of chronic pain. She enjoys the opportunity to help patients learn to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life, in spite of chronic pain.
