About
Practitioner Profile – Alane Wincek, ND, CNC I am a certified holistic nutritionist, naturopath, with over 30 years of experience supporting complex, chronic health conditions. I specialize in Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), hypermobility-related disorders, chronic pain, fatigue, autonomic dysfunction, mast cell activation, hormonal imbalance, metabolic dysfunction, and inflammatory conditions. What makes my work deeply personal is that I also live with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and a chronic condition. I understand firsthand the confusion, dismissal, and frustration that so many people with EDS experience—being told symptoms are “in your head,” struggling with pain that doesn’t follow a straight line, and feeling unsure how to move, eat, supplement, live, or even rest safely in your own body. While there is currently no known cure for EDS , I firmly believe—and have seen repeatedly—that with the right guidance, education, and individualized support , people with EDS can stay stronger, more mobile, clearer-headed, and significantly more comfortable in daily life. My Approach I work from a root-cause, whole-body perspective , recognizing that EDS does not exist in isolation. Joint instability, pain, and injury are often compounded by nervous system dysregulation, nutrient deficiencies, infections, viral overloads, mitochondrial dysfunction, hormonal shifts, gut and immune imbalance, and chronic inflammation. My approach focuses on: Personalized, holistic nutrition counseling to support connective tissue, vascular integrity, and metabolic health Functional lab testing to identify deficiencies, inflammation, infections, viral overloads, autonomic stress, mast cell activity, and metabolic dysfunction Strategic supplementation to support collagen integrity, muscle strength, energy production, inflammation, and recovery Nervous system support to reduce pain amplification, fatigue, and dysautonomia symptoms Lifestyle and movement guidance tailored specifically for hypermobile bodies—so patients know what to do and what to avoid Education and empowerment, so patients feel confident navigating daily life, flare-ups, and long-term planning I collaborate with medical providers when appropriate and help patients understand how to safely integrate both conventional and holistic strategies—without overwhelm or guesswork. Why Patients With EDS Choose to Work With Me People seek me out because they want: A practitioner who truly understands EDS from the inside out Clear guidance instead of vague reassurance Help connecting the dots between pain, fatigue, hormones, infection, viral load, digestion, inflammation, and mobility Support that is realistic, compassionate, and sustainable for long-term living Someone who listens, believes them, respects them, and helps them regain trust in their body Living with EDS requires ongoing support, adaptability, and informed decision-making. My role is to help patients feel less lost, less alone, and more empowered—so they can live fully, stay active in the ways that are right for them, and protect their health over the long term.
