Aiko Callahan Physical Therapy LLC
About
I run a small cash-based PT practice, virtual and in-person. I am licensed to see patients in Massachusetts only (at this time.) My philosophy regarding physical therapy centers on the patient-clinician partnership; on my part, that usually means a lot of listening to start, so that I can form an appropriate plan of care we agree upon that works towards goals that are meaningful to you. Most often, I start with a virtual consult prior to establishing in-person care. I follow this up with lots of education. The more knowledgeable you are about your body, the better; for both symptomatic hypermobility and performing arts, maximizing your self-efficacy and independent management is crucial for quality of life and performance. I see myself as one part of your healthcare team and am more than happy to collaborate with others, including other physical therapists. My hope in having my own practice is to have the flexibility to fill in for gaps in care and to provide prevention and wellness services, education and physical therapy for symptomatic hypermobility and performing artists. I utilize a hands on approach with manual therapy, focus on retraining movement patterns, work to improve body/postural awareness and strengthen/stabilize where needed. I am starting to offer classes, both lecture and movement based, in-person as well as virtual, including the Integral Movement Method (Jeannie di Bon’s approach to movement.) I hope this will help my in-person students to connect with others locally and build a better community. Please refer to my website for current offerings.
